Josie Gibson has announced her latest ‘surreal’ new job just two months after missing out on the This Morning role.

The 39-year-old star, who rose to fame when she won Big Brother back in 2010, appeared to be in the running to replace Holly Willoughby on the ITV daytime show, but it was Cat Deeley who landed the job alongside Ben Shephard back in February.

However, Josie is keeping busy and she has been spotted hopping on the tills to serve shoppers at one of Iceland’s stores, before having a go at stacking one of the freezers.

She was even given her own Iceland jacket and name badge as she steps in as the new face of the supermarket, with new adverts launching from today (April 19).

Josie’s ads – which feature the new, updated tagline ‘That’s why why go to Iceland’ – will run over 12 months in primetime, airing between the likes of Gogglebox, Britain’s Got Talent, In For A Penny and Made In Chelsea.

‘I remember shopping in Iceland when I was a little girl, so it feels incredibly surreal to be working with them as the face of the brand,’ she said in a statement.

Hailing the brand’s ‘commitment’ to good value and customer care, the mum-of-one added: ‘Shooting the ad and meeting the team was so much fun and I can’t wait for people to see it.’

Over on This Morning, Cat and Ben’s new partnership comes after Phillip Schofield quit the show early last year, followed a few months later by Holly Willoughby.

There was a lot of speculation over who could take their spots as the new faces of the daytime show, with names including Alison HammondDermot O’Leary and Rylan Clark being mentioned.

Last month, a source claimed to OK! magazine: ‘The person who is really gutted that she wasn’t given the role is Josie Gibson – her nose is out of joint.

‘She was touted as the new Holly but wasn’t the case. She’s hurt over the decision.’

However, now Josie has followed in the footsteps of fellow I’m A Celebrity stars like Kerry Katona and Peter Andre, who have also fronted campaigns for Iceland.

Richard Walker, executive chairman of Iceland Foods, commented: ‘With her famous warmth and positivity, Josie is the perfect person to encapsulate the friendly welcome all our customers receive at Iceland and we’re delighted to have her onboard.

‌’Iceland’s always been number one with mums and our new campaign celebrates our growing customer base, from across all aspects of the great British public.

‌’We’re excited to be working with Josie and can’t wait to see the great things we’ll do together to show that’s why we go to Iceland.’

It’s been over a decade since James Arthur won The X Factor, but he’s still making waves in the music industry, this time thanks to a duet with a pop icon.

James, now 36, triumphed in the 2012 series of Simon Cowell’s singing competition, with his debut single – a cover of Shontelle’s Impossible – landing at number one in the charts and becoming the most successful winner’s single in the show’s history.

Since then, James has released a bunch of tunes, including You’re Nobody ’til Somebody Loves You and Say You Won’t Let Go, as well as three studio albums.

Still going strong in 2024, he’s teamed up with none other than Kelly Clarkson for a fiery duet.

Titled From The Jump, the song is the duet version of James’s album track and the fourth official release from Bitter Sweet Love, which dropped earlier this year.

The intimate yet powerful ballad is the ideal setting for a magical encounter, as James begins with his gentle crooning.

Kelly Clarkson

Kelly then comes in with her powerful vocal, promising to find and hold her lover forever with the lyrics: ‘Remember, I told you I’ll never let go.’

Then, when the two powerful vocalists finally unite their passion in the shared chorus, magic is born.

Speaking about their collab, James – who was mentored by Nicole Scherzinger on The X Factor – said: ‘When I heard Kelly’s vocals on this, my mind was blown.

‘What a great honour to have someone of her calibre feature on one of my favourite songs from this body of work. I’m so excited for the fans to hear it.’

Clearly already a James Arthur fan, Kelly added: ‘James has such an incredible voice, so I was stoked when he sent me this song to jump on with him.

‘I love singing with artists who inspire me and vocalists I adore! That’s my favourite kind of duet partner.’

She described From The Jump as ‘such a cool song’ with a ‘singer/songwriter vibe but with these pop elements of catchiness that I really dig.’

‘The melody is beautiful, and the writing is so great that I was very excited to sing on it with him!’

James and Kelly’s soulful duet has received rave reviews online since its release.

Taking to X, listeners described it as ‘stunning’, with the pair even reducing people to tears.

‘This James Arthur and Kelly Clarkson collab is beautiful’, wrote caseyleemoore.

MomX4grandmaX2 said they had ‘goosebumps’ while MashaelS97 wrote: ‘The two singers I never knew I needed. Iconic’.

What are your thoughts on James and Kelly’s duet?Comment Now

‘A beautiful version of the original which is one of my faves from the album!!’, added scrappygrams12.

James has maintained a legion of fans post-X Factor, allowing him to become a multi-Platinum artist with sell-out tours in the UK and Europe.

Today, he is one of the world’s biggest streaming artists, with more than 38million monthly listeners on Spotify alone. “

Away from the microphone, the Falling Like The Stars singer had an ‘unexpected arrival’ in 2022 when he became a dad for the first time.

In his announcement at the time, James revealed that he and his girlfriend, Jessica Grist, had called the tot Emily, a name he has tattooed and which is the title of one of his songs.

We need to talk about the uncomfortable truth about female on-screen kisses

Kim Kardashian and Emma Roberts steam up the screen with a lesbian kiss

Emma Roberts and Kim Kardashian recently made headlines for sharing a passionate onscreen kiss in a recent episode of American Horror Story

The moment is meant as a shocking power play between the two stars’ characters. Robert’s character wins an Oscar while going into labour, and Kardashian, who plays her publicist, kisses her before she goes up to accept the award.

It joins a long list of on-screen girl-on-girl kisses that are intended to be anything from surprising and sexy to menacing and edgy – but almost never romantic.

While more and more female kisses and even sex scenes have been featured in movies and TV shows over recent years – a phenomenon that’s been haled as a representational victory for the LGBTQ+ community – it’s time we recognize some glaring problems with the way our culture portrays female physical intimacy.

It’s rare that two women kiss on screen in a moment of genuine connection, and even rarer that there isn’t a sense of male fetishization imbued. When movies or TV is made that center romantic and sexual relationships between women, they’re all about sex, without bothering with much character development, romance, or even plot.

Even worse, on screen female kisses are often between straight women and intended for the enjoyment of men or to signal a sort of rebelliousness.

Using Kardashian and Robert’s kiss as an example, their characters are not portrayed as queer or romantically interested in each other, which would be fine had the kiss served some other purpose in the plot. Instead, it seems to exist purely for a moment of shock and titillation within the world of the show.

The moment closely mirrors other famous real-life female kisses, like when Madonna kissed Britney Spears at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards, shocking the world and causing a moral panic, or when Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johansson kissed in 2010 at the MTV Movie Awards.

Neither of these instances can realistically be read as genuine moments of affection but instead as performative attention grabs between straight women meant to cause a stir and indicate a kind of edginess.

Scarlett Johansson and Sandra Bullock kissing onstage at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards
It made international headlines when Scarlett Johansson and Sandra Bullock kissed onstage at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards (Picture: FilmMagic)

This is true of famous fictional examples as well, like the much-discussed kiss between Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried in Jennifer’s Body.

The scene, in which Fox’s character seduces Seyfrieds, is intended as a threat and a moment of possessiveness more than anything tender or emotionally expressive. While it’s an affective moment in the film, it’s certainly not representational of healthy gay intimacy.

Another famous example is the kiss between Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair in the 1999 teen drama Cruel Intentions. Gellar’s character bullies and belittles Blair’s character throughout the film before unexpectedly kissing her in a twisted moment.

Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried kiss in jennifers body

The scene won the Best Kiss gong at the MTV Movie Awards in 2000 and was widely discussed at the time of the movie’s release.

Blair later reflected on the scene, saying: ‘I think the reason the kiss has resonated with people so long is not just for the initial shock value but because it was a catalyst for so many young people to help them realise certain aspects of their sexuality and help make people comfortable to be who they really are.’

Selma Blair and Sarah Michelle Gellar kissing in Cruel Intentions
Selma Blair and Sarah Michelle Gellar’s kiss in Cruel Intentions won best kiss at the MTV Movie Awards in 2000 (Picture: Sony Pictures)

While Blair likely isn’t wrong that a lot of young people were inspired by the famous moment, one has to wonder what young gay women learn when the only representation available to them is moments as dark or intentionally shocking as the kiss in Cruel Intentions.

While straight people have a plethora of examples of intimacy that’s shared lovingly between two people in private, examples of kisses between two women are almost always portrayed as sinister, shocking, performative, or for the purpose of gaining male attention.

So before people continue to celebrate Kardashian and Robert’s onscreen kiss as a win for LGBTQ+ representation, it’s worth considering whether women-loving women are being forced to accept the bare minimum.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson could miss out on James Bond as another Hollywood star is tipped for role

Aaron Taylor Johnson
Aaron Taylor-Johnson faces surprise competition for the role of James Bond (Picture: Getty)

It seemed as though Aaron Taylor-Johnson was all but confirmed as the next James Bond – but new reports have suggested otherwise.

The British actor, 33, was reportedly all set to be the brand new 007, with some people even speculating on who his new Bond girl might be.

Daniel Craig announced he would be hanging up his license to kill after No Time to Die, the fifth Bond film he’d been part of, which was released back in 2021.

However, despite an announcement about Taylor-Johnson appearing to be almost imminent, another name has recently re-emerged, blowing the race wide open once again.

Odds on Taron Egerton stepping into James Bond’s shoes have reportedly shrunk in recent weeks, leading some to believe he might be Britain’s next secret weapon.

Experts have spotted that Egerton’s odds have dropped to 11/4, despite ruling himself out of the running as recently as last April.

While Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging star Taylor-Johnson is still the overwhelming favourite, Egerton’s sudden rise certainly hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Gambling.com said: ‘Back in April 2023, the 34-year-old said he doesn’t think he is the right choice for the role.

‘Fast forward a year and the Tetris star’s stock is only getting bigger and he could be in line to take over from Craig as Bond.’

The 34-year-old rose to movie stardom in 2015 when he took on the role of Gareth ‘Eggsy’ Unwin in Kingsman: The Secret Service, the first film of the spy action comedy franchise.

In 2017, he reprised the role of Eggsy in Kingsman: The Golden Circle – both Kingsman films have been repeatedly compared to James Bond over the last decade.

However, Egerton really made a name for himself in 2019 when he starred in the lead role for the Elton John biopic Rocketman, which won one Oscar and two Golden Globes.

Taylor-Johnson, a noughties teen icon, starred in superhero movies Kick-Ass and The Avengers before also joining the Kingsman franchise in The King’s Man, which came out in 2021.

He was nominated for a Bafta, a Golden Globe, and a Screen Actors’ Guild award for his work on the film.

In addition to there being no official statement on who’ll be playing James Bond in the future, there’s also no word on when the next film in the franchise will be coming along.

As of 2024, the longest gap between two Bond films currently stands at four years, with Die Another Day – Piers Brosnan’s final outing as the spy – coming in 2002, four years before Craig’s debut in Casino Royale.

There was then a gap of four years between follow-up film Quantum of Solace in 2008 and 2012’s Skyfall, which gross over £$1bn at the worldwide box office.

Taylor Swift dated actor Joe Alwyn for six years but the pair broke up in 2023. It now appears that her ex-boyfriend key subject in her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department.

Taylor’s new album was released today and with news that some fans are booking days off work to listen to the 31 tracks in the album, its safe to say it’s a pretty big deal.

In the new record, the songwriter, 34, has taken aim at her exes Joe Alwyn and Matty Healy as the singer’s lyrics point to specific incidents that caused the breakdown of these relationships.

When did Joe Alwyn and Taylor Swift start dating?

Joe, 33, and Taylor began dating in October 2016 when she was 28 and he was 26. The pair apparently met at the Met Gala, just a few months after the Lover singer dated Tom Hiddleston.

There were several engagement rumours throughout their six year relationship but the pair remained tight-lipped. Joe once told the Wall Street Journal: ‘If I had a pound for every time I think I’ve been told I’ve been engaged, then I’d have a lot of pound coins.’

Taylor’s new lyrics hint at commitment issues may have been a catalyst in their break up in April 2023 as she sings about the various issues in their relationship.

Where is Joe Alwyn now?

Joe Alwyn has kept a low profile since his split from Taylor, waiting until November – seven months after their April 2023 break-up – to make his first big public appearance at the GQ Men of the Year Awards in London.

Joe is an actor and has notably appeared in movies: The Favourite, Boy Erased, and Mary Queen of Scots . He has also has appeared in the Sally Rooney BBC series Conversations with Friends.

The actor has some films coming up, one named Kinds of Kindness from Poor Things director, Yorgos Lanthimos. The film is set to be released this year and Joe will star opposite Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Hunter Schafer and Willem Defoe.

His other upcoming films, The Brutalist and Hamlet, have yet to have confirmed release dates.

As a private person, his social media has not revealed much about his current whereabouts but suggests that he has spent time abroad and travelling since their breakup.

What Taylor Swift songs are about Joe Alwyn?

In Taylor’s new album, it’s thought that So Long, London is about Joe who she previously called her London Boy in her Lover album. The lyrics read: ‘You swore that you loved, me but where were the clues, I died on the altar waiting for the proof.’

Fans believe Taylor’s new song, How did it End? also refers to Joe as she is left reeling after a long relationship and confused about how it all came to fall apart.

The lyrics for this song read: ‘Say it once again with feeling/ How the death rattle breathing/ Silenced as the soul was leaving/ The deflation of our dreaming/ Leaving me bereft and reeling/ My beloved ghost and me/ Sitting in a tree/ D-Y-I-N-G.’

Joe Alwyn

Fans have also speculated that; My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys, loml, and The Black Dog are about Joe. In these songs, Taylor sings about being let down but someone you trust and being let down.

Her album title, The Tortured Poets Department is also theorised to be a reference to Joe’s group chat with Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott called Tortured Man Club.

While dating Taylor, Joe also received some song-writing credits on her albums; Folklore, Evermore, and Midnights. It has been speculated by fans that various songs on these albums were inspired by him as Taylor was in a relationship with him at the time.

Does Joe Alwyn have a new girlfriend?

It is unclear if Joe is currently dating anyone as he is notoriously private – something that is referenced in several of Taylor’s new songs as she reflects on the secretive nature of their relationship.

Joe Alwyn and Alison Oliver
The actor played Nick in Conversations with Friends (Pictured: Hulu/Everett/REX/Shutterstock)

It was speculated that Joe was dating Alison Oliver, 26, who he starred opposite in Conversations with Friends. Although the Saltburn actress may have played his lover in the series, it has never been confirmed that they are in a relationship.

Similarly, there have been rumours about a link between Joe and his co-star, Emma Laird, 25, in The Brutalist.

The actress shared photos of Joe on her social media when they worked together, sparking romance rumours.

True to form, the actor refused to comment one whether this dating gossip was true.

Gabby Logan has revealed she nearly caused an emergency plane landing after being in extreme pain and not feeling well, before realising her ‘illness’ was something entirely different.

The BBC star revealed she was unable to lift her chest up or ‘unravel [her] body’, and the plane had to be lowered to 10,000 feet.

It turned out though, Gabby just had some trapped gas, but she had no idea at the time and caused a bit of panic on the plane.

The 50-year-old explained the shocking incident on her The Mid Point podcast, during a conversation with her husband Kenny.

‘Remember that flight we went on, I’ve just remembered now, where you had to get the pilot to lower the plane to 10,000 feet?’ he began.

Kenny continued: ‘I was sat next to my wife and she had gone a bit white and she said, “I’m not feeling well”, and I was like, “You’ll be fine, just get some water.”‘

‘It started in the airport!’ Gabby chimed in with, explaining: ‘I wasn’t feeling well in the airport, I got on the plane, I felt worse, and to the point where I couldn’t unravel my body.

‘I was crunched over and couldn’t lift my chest up, and I didn’t know what was wrong.

‘The air hostess looked really worried… I had gone really white.’

Gabby was taken to the front of the plane into the galley, and overheard the air stewards talking about whether they needed to land the plane to help her, or give her oxygen.

‘And then he just said, “I’m going to see if we just slightly lower the plane a little bit, what that does to you, it might just change the way you feel.”‘

Gabby Logan
It all turned out to be some trapped gas (Picture: David Fisher/Shutterstock)

Taking over on telling the story, Kenny revealed how ‘suddenly’ he heard Gabby burping after her ‘trapped wind’ was released.

‘Basically, I had trapped wind. It’s not as if the whole plane didn’t know about this by this point,’ she laughed.

Kenny joked that Gabby even got a ‘cheer’ by the other passengers, after she felt much better.

The mum-of-two and former gymnast added that the story was also shared on Would I Lie To You? when the steward who helped her actually surprised her as a guest.

On the show, hosted by Rob Brydon, Gabby explained as the air steward appeared on stage: ‘This is Richard, he is the flight attendant who persuaded me I wasn’t dying, but I had trapped wind.’

She added on the BBC programme that she felt ‘really breathless’ at the time and ‘uncomfortable’.

‘I thought I was dying,’ she added, before recalling how she was told by Richard that it was just, in fact, trapped wind.

Sony in talks to buy Star Trek and Top Gun film company Paramount claims report

Halo season 2 still
Sony might soon own the Halo TV series (Picture: Paramount)

In what could be a significant boon to its IP in video games and beyond, Sony is apparently considering a buyout of Paramount Pictures.

The likes of Mission: Impossible and SpongeBob SquarePants could become property of Sony, if a reported bid comes to fruition.

Sony Pictures Entertainment, who acquired anime streaming service Crunchyroll back in 2021, is believed to be in talks with investment firm Apollo Global about making a deal to buy Paramount Pictures. The movie and television production company owns the likes of Nickelodeon, MTV, and CBS.

For Sony’s film and television division, the biggest draw might be Paramount+ as Sony doesn’t have its own dedicated streaming service. As for what it could mean for video games though, it might put the likes of Star Trek and Mission: Impossible as contenders for significant gaming adaptations.

According to The New York Times and The Hollywood Reporter, the joint bid from Sony and Apollo hasn’t been officially proposed yet.

Apollo previously offered to buy Paramount for $26 billion, but this was reportedly dismissed under concerns about Apollo’s financing. A joint venture with Sony therefore, would go some way to alleviating those concerns.

The potential bid comes as Paramount conducts exclusive negotiations with Skydance Media, but this deal is said to have received ‘significant investor pushback’.

While details of the potential bid from Sony are unknown (and it might not even happen), it’s intriguing to think about what it could lead to – aside from weird turns like Sony controlling the Halo TV series and Sonic The Hedgehog movies.

Other Paramount properties include Top Gun, Transformers, and The Godfather, with the latter two having been adapted into various games in the past. Although Transformers is essentially a licensed product, owned by Hasbro.

A third Sonic The Hedgehog movie, meanwhile, is in the works and is set to be released in December. This comes after the spin-off miniseries Knuckles, featuring the voice of Idris Elba, which is set to arrive on Paramount+ on April 26.

Baby Reindeer fans shocked after discovering Martha star Jessica Gunning’s past roles

Jessica Gunning in Baby Reindeer
Jessica Gunning has wowed viewers with her performance in Baby Reindeer (Picture: Ed Miller/Netflix)

Baby Reindeer has taken Netflix by storm since its release, gripping viewers with its devastating yet compelling storytelling of one man’s stalking hell.

The drama miniseries stars Richard Gadd as Donny, who acts out his own real-life ordeal and delves into his trauma across the eight harrowing episodes.

As well as Scottish comedian Richard and Nava Mau, fans have been blown away by the performance of Jessica Gunning, whose character is given the pseudonym Martha in the programme.

Masquerading as a lawyer, the lonely middle-aged woman first crosses paths with ‘Donny’ when, in an act of kindness, he gives her a free cup of tea at the bar where he works.

Things quickly snowball, resulting in ‘Martha’ sending Donny 41,000 emails and hundreds of hours worth of disturbing, vicious voice messages across three years in a stalking nightmare.

There’s no denying her portrayal of Martha is terrifying, prompting viewers to dig further into her acting CV, leaving many stunned at where they’ve seen her before.

Nope, Baby Reindeer isn’t her first rodeo, as she’s already appeared in several high-profile TV series you’ve probably watched and loved, such as the below…

Pride

Jessica Gunning in Pride
She won hearts with her role in 2014 film Pride (Picture: Pathe)

Jessica starred alongside the likes of Bill Nighy, Andrew Scott, Imelda Staunton, and Dominic West in 2014 film Pride.

The movie follows UK gay and lesbian activists working to help miners during their lengthy strike of the National Union of Mineworkers.

In it, Jessica plays Siân James, who is part of the Women’s Support Group.

Reacting to the discovery of her previous role, GrantTucker wrote on X: ‘Obsessed that Martha from #BabyReindeer was also Welsh queen Sian, saviour of miners and homosexuals, in Pride. Jessica Gunning’s range knows no bounds.’

‘Pride is one of my favourite films and she was brilliant as Sian’, replied cdaly72.

Doctor Who

Jessica Gunning in Doctor Who
Yep, she was in Doctor Who! (Picture: BBC)

It probably never comes as a surprise to learn that an actor has appeared in Doctor Who at some point in their career.

Jessica played Stacy Campbell in the Doctor Who story Partners in Crime.

It was part of the fourth series, which aired in 2009.

‘Love that Martha from #BabyReindeer is this queen from Doctor Who that turns into Adipose because Donna twiddles her necklace’, tweeted LiamGaughan98.

‘Yess! I clocked this straight away’, declared absolutegazelle.

‘THATS where I recognised her from’, added a stunned Matt_Aspden.

Inside No. 9

Jessica Gunning, Jack Whitehall

Jessica was a hilarious addition to the Inside No. 9 cast in 2015.

In Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith’s anthology series, she starred as an Australian woman named Shona who got hot and heavy with none other than comedian Jack Whitehall.

Episode La Couchette follows a group of passengers on a sleeper train from France trying to get some shut-eye, but they fail miserably as their compartment quickly fills up and becomes chaotic – especially so when one of the passengers dies suddenly.

Have you watched Baby Reindeer?Comment Now

‘That’s instantly where I recognised her from! One of my favourite Inside no 9 episodes!’, wrote X user emmabwilkes.

But that’s not all, as you might also recognise Jessica from roles in White Heat (2012), The Outlaws (2021), Law & Order: UK (2009), Holby City (2011), or Mutual Friends (2008).

Baby Reindeer is now streaming on Netflix.

The special has angered a lot of viewers, but to those who want him cancelled following this show, Jimmy has two words for you: ‘good luck’.

During an appearance on The One Show on Tuesday, the comic, 51, said: ‘Some people are repelled by my jokes, and they’re sat at home now, writing to Points of View, trying to get me cancelled. Good luck.’

In his new show, the 8 out of 10 Cats star made several jokes referencing his girlfriend Karoline Copping and their young son.

Here’s what we know…

Who is Jimmy Carr’s partner Karoline Copping?

Karoline Copping is Jimmy Carr’s partner and mother of their son. The couple first began dating in 2001 but have never married.

Karoline is Canadian and worked as a TV Commissioning Editor for Channel 5. She has also worked for Channel 4 and has previously collaborated with her comedian partner on some of his projects.

How did Jimmy Carr and girlfriend Karoline meet?

When they first met apparently Karoline was not particularly interested in Jimmy and thought he was a misogynist.

Recalling their first meeting, Jimmy told The Guardian in 2008: ‘We met at an audition. I went away from the meeting and called my manager and said, “I can’t work for that company because that girl is too attractive and I couldn’t concentrate on saying something funny.”

‘She went away and wrote a note saying, “He’s got one joke, he’s very misogynistic and he’s rubbish.” Then I saw her at a gig and I asked her out.’

Speaking about why they haven’t tied the knot he commented: ‘People ask why we’re not married but it’s just not something that I’d like to talk about. Karoline is a wonderful girl and it upsets her and I’m not prepared to do it.’

Does Jimmy Carr have children?

Jimmy has a son with Karoline named Rockefeller who was born in 2019. He did however confuse fans during his special as he spoke about his ‘children’ at one point, leading fans to think he had privately had a second child.

The comedian kept his son Rockefeller’s birth private for two years, so keeping a second child’s birth a secret wouldn’t be that out of character. At present he has not confirmed the birth of another child.

In 2021, Jimmy spoke about his son when he told comedians Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe, on the podcast Parenting Hell, that his partner had to have an emergency C-section.

Opening up about the birth of his son, Jimmy said: ‘It was a terrifying morning because it was an emergency C-section.

Rachel Riley, Jimmy Carr and Susie Dent on Countdown
The 8 Out of 10 Cats does Countdown star has only revealed he has one child (Picture: Channel 4)

‘And when they “emergency,” then you sort of take the guy to one side and go, “What do you mean, emergency? What’s the worst case scenario?”

‘And then they explain. Like, oh no that is legit frightening. We were very well taken care of, it was great. I don’t mind the gore and the guts of the thing so I was sort of in the business end as they sliced her open.

‘It was unbelievable.’

What is Jimmy Carr’s net worth?

Jimmy Carr’s net worth is estimated to be somewhere between £12-£25million.

The comedian works on several panel shows, has his own comedy tours and Netflix deals, has released two books, and has found fame in the UK and US.

Hollywood icon, 79, claims he’s somehow ‘never sent a text or email’

Tom Selleck has lived his entire life without ever having to send an email or text message, and we are in awe.

The actor boasts a huge career in Hollywood, starring in Blue Bloods, Magnum PI and an unforgettable stint in Friends.

However, shedding light on his upcoming memoir, You Never Know, the 79-year-old explained that he mostly keeps away from technology.

Instead, his wife Jillie Mack – who he married in 1987 – will send messages on his behalf, while his secretary also responds to emails.

‘Occasionally I’ve looked up my name,’ he told People Magazine. ‘That started really with the book, but I’ve never sent my own email. I had a secretary. I’ve never texted anybody.

‘I have a certain luxury where I probably couldn’t survive otherwise.

Tom Selleck
Tom revealed his wife and secretary often sort his admin out (Picture: Getty)

‘But I don’t know. I have a hard time writing things down, which is weird for a guy who’s pushing a book.’

Speaking to the outlet, Tom explained that he tends to enjoy a calm environment at home, away from various film sets, and isn’t a huge TV watcher – despite carving out a career on our screens.

Instead, he relishes time in nature and watching flowers bloom when he has some downtime – which, coupled with an email-free lifestyle, sounds pretty perfect.

‘A cigar and a glass of whisky is a nice way to end the day,’ he added. ‘I’ve had a very good life, a very lucky life. I don’t know if it’s what I figured I’d be doing, but it’s with a lot of gratitude.’

Thankfully, Tom will be able to spend time with his favorite flowers very soon as his time on Blue Bloods is officially coming to an end.

The police procedural drama has been axed after 14 years, with the final episodes due to air later this year.

In November, the show’s official Twitter account confirmed the news in a tweet that read: ‘Join us for the final season of #BlueBloods Season 14, airing in TWO parts: February 2024 and Fall 2024 on @CBS and @paramountplus.’

Tom, who first shot to fame in Magnum PI, lead the way in the hit show – which premiered on CBS in 2010 – with his role playing New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan.

Addressing the axe in a heartfelt statement, he penned: ‘For the past 13 years it has been an honor and a privilege to work on a show that not only celebrates the men and women who protect and serve in New York City, but also displayed the importance of family.

‘Working alongside these incredible actors, writers, producers, directors and crew has been a dream come true and I’m grateful to have been a part of this extraordinary group for over 275 episodes.

‘Thank you to CBS Studios and CBS Network for their steadfast support and we offer heartfelt gratitude to the fans who gathered with us for dinner every Friday night.’

Beloved WWE legend’s wrestling future unclear after major surgery

Wrestling legend Rey Mysterio has reconsidered his retirement plans months after undergoing major knee surgery.

The WWE Hall of Famer – who only recently returned to action on SmackDown in time for WrestleMania 40 after undergoing surgery late last year – turns 50 in December, and he previously hinted that the milestone birthday would be the moment he hung up his boots.

However, he exclusively told Metro.co.uk: ‘So I think – I knew I had a number in mind. and I said I didn’t want to go past that.

‘But I’m truly listening to how my body has been reacting. And my body has been reacting great, and my motivation is still on point.

‘I want to make sure that everything, coordination wise, is still on point in order for me to continue. As of yet, you know, I’m good!’

He insisted he feels ‘great’ and ‘motivated’ to be in the ring, and he had an easier time of things with his recent injury rehab.

Less than six months ago, he underwent knee surgery (Picture: Instagram/Rey Mysterio)

‘It was much easier. The procedure was minor compared to my previous surgeries on the left knee,’ he said. ‘Just the meniscus tear, three [or] four months of recovery, and ready to go back. But overall, I do feel better!’

Upon his return, the masked legend reignited his feud with Santos Escobar, who drafted in Rey’s son Dominik Mysterio to face Rey and Dragon Lee at WrestleMania earlier this month.

The former world champion has led a reformed Latino World Order, with top talent like Escobar, Zelina Vega, Joaquin Wilde, Cruz Del Toro, Angel, Berto and Carlito getting involved in the story.

Many fans have been wondering how the Rey’s friend, the late, great Eddie Guerrero, would have fit into the story if it wasn’t for his tragic death aged 38 in 2005.

‘Oh, my gosh, Eddie. Everything would be much different right now, with Eddie being here. I’ve talked about it and I’ve kind of fantasised on how the story would even be if Eddie was was around,’ he said.

‘It’s just very emotional just thinking about it. But, knowing how much bigger it would be with Eddie being here? It just blows my mind.’

Although Latino Heat isn’t physically part of the storyline, Rey ‘always’ feels his presence every time he steps between the ropes, and he’s happy to keep his friend’s memory alive.

‘I feel an aura that’s around, that always is enjoying the moments that I have, whoever it is that I’m in the ring with,’ he smiled.

‘The fact that we still keep Eddie’s name alive through his moves, through his move body movements, is truly a blessing in disguise. I really enjoy seeing all of that.’

Last year, Dominik Mysterio also reflected on Guerrero’s potential involvement if he were still alive today, particularly given the 2005 storyline where Guerrero was revealed to be Dom’s real father.

‘I think in a perfect world, if Eddie was still here, he would have been on my dad’s side, a special guest referee [at WrestleMania 39]. And at the end of the day, he would have picked my side,’ he told Metro.co.uk.

‘I think he would’ve been with my dad all along, telling him that he’s going to handle business, “he’s just going through a phase”, and at the end of the day he comes with me.’

WWE SmackDown airs Friday nights at 1am on TNT Sports 1. WWE brings Backlash to Lyon, France on May 5. Tune in at 6pm via the WWE Network.

How to play every Fallout game for cheap on console and PC

Fallout 76
Get your fill of Fallout (Picture: Bethesda)

Fallout has seen a spike in sales following the success of the TV adaptation, but where is the cheapest place to buy each of the games?

While TV and movie adaptations have helped boost video game sales in the past, Amazon’s Fallout series has caused one of the biggest surges in recent memory.

The impact is perhaps more noticeable considering its elevated multiple Fallout titles, from the multiplayer spin-off Fallout 76 to the latest mainline entry Fallout 4. The latter has even reclaimed the top spot in the European digital and physical charts, nine years after it was first released.

This surge is also helped by some well-timed discounts across various Fallout titles, which you can find listed below.

If you’re a Xbox Game Pass subscriber though, either on Xbox or PC, you have access to every Fallout game apart from 2004’s much maligned Fallout: Brotherhood Of Steel. For those subscribed to PlayStation Plus Extra, you can also jump into Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 with no extra charge.

There’s also a deal where you can claim a free copy of Fallout 76, and play Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 3, on Amazon Luna, if you’re subscribed to Amazon Prime. This offer, however, expires on May 15, 2024. You can check out details on subscribing to Amazon Prime here.

Cheapest deal on Fallout

Fallout original
The original Fallout from 1997 (Picture: Steam)

Developed by Interplay and released in 1997, the original Fallout is very different to the role-playing game the series went on to become under Bethesda. It features turn-based combat and has much more dark humour, as you play the Vault Dweller who inhabits an underground nuclear shelter in the mid-22nd century.

Epic Games Store – £1.99
Steam – £7.99 (the Fallout Classic Collection with Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics is available for £15.99)

Cheapest deal on Fallout 2

The sequel to the original Fallout takes place 80 years later, as you assume the role of the grandchild of the original game’s protagonist. It largely sticks to the formula established in the first title though, with minor updates to the game mechanics.

Epic Games Store – £1.99
Steam – £7.99 (the Fallout Classic Collection with Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics is available for £15.99)

Cheapest deal on Fallout Tactics

Fallout Tactics
Fallout Tactics (Picture: Steam)

The first spin-off game in the series was Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood Of Steel, which ditched the original mechanics for a real-time strategy take. It primarily focuses on squad-based combat, with much more limited interactions with non-player characters.

Epic Games Store – £1.99
Steam – £7.99 (the Fallout Classic Collection with Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics is available for £15.99)

Cheapest deal on Fallout 3

Bethesda took the reins with 2008’s Fallout 3, which essentially established the formula for every Fallout game since. This was the first time Fallout occupied a 3D world and utilised real-time combat. While some aspects have aged, it is still arguably the most important Fallout game in the series’ history.

Epic Games Store – £3.99

Microsoft Xbox Store – £3.93 for the Game Of The Year Edition (included in Game Pass)
Microsoft Xbox Store – £2.09 for the standard edition (included in Game Pass)

Cheapest deal on Fallout: New Vegas

Widely regarded as the best in the series, Fallout: New Vegas is a spin-off developed by Obsidian Entertainment. While it reuses a lot of assets from the Fallout 3 formula, the Las Vegas setting, writing, and improved gameplay have put it high on many people’s lists.

Microsoft Xbox Store – £5.19 for the Ultimate Edition (included in Game Pass)
Microsoft Xbox Store – £2.09 for the standard edition (included in Game Pass)

Cheapest deal on Fallout 4

While this might be the go-to Fallout game for many players today, it was perhaps the moment when the Fallout formula began to show its age. Fallout 4 is the second outing from Bethesda, and doesn’t really evolve the formula found in Fallout 3 too much – outside of the ability to create and manage settlements, along with a new crafting system.

PlayStation Store – £3.99 (included with PlayStation Plus Extra)
Microsoft Store – £3.93 (included with Game Pass)

Cheapest deal on Fallout 76

The most recent Fallout game is Fallout 76, which is a multiplayer prequel where you can squad up with friends across the post-apocalyptic landscape. It was originally a mess at launch in 2018, but it’s become a popular alternative since, thanks to a slew of updates.

PlayStation Store – £6.99 (included with PlayStation Plus Extra)
Microsoft Xbox Store – £6.99 (included with Game Pass)

ITV needs a new Ant and Dec to save Saturday night TV

$
0

Ant and Dec on Saturday Night Takeaway
It could be time to refresh Saturday nights (Picture: ITV)

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly finished Saturday Night Takeaway after 20 seasons and waved a tearful goodbye.

Although this ITV show is on hiatus, the emotional conclusion could be considered a little dramatic, as the Geordie duo are back again seven days later with Britain’s Got Talent (it’s giving similar energy to Coleen Nolan leaving Loose Women with a dedicated episode and specially-written ballad in 2011 and returning less than two years later) which is still in the desirable Saturday night slot.

We’ve gone longer without seeing our own reflection!

Once that’s done, we’ll see them on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here, and in the future, we could also get a fourth season of their game show Limitless Win.

Since Ant and Dec emerged into the world of showbiz in 1990 as child actors in Byker Grove, they’ve barely been off our screens.

They have turned their hand to many different shows, including Red or Black?, Pop Idol, and SMTV Live.

Ant and Decc
Ant and Ded are already back (Picture: Jon Super/Shutterstock/Rex Features)

It’s perfectly understandable why they’ve managed to rack up such a long list (we feel for the person moderating their Wiki page) – their warm persona, and easy chemistry has led to audiences seeing the pair, both 48, as a safe (and fun) pair of hands. As a result, the TV industry has not let them rest.

While we still want to see Ant and Dec knocking about, maybe it’s time for some other presenters to get a Saturday night show too.

We’ve got a few ideas…

Will Best and AJ Odudu

AJ Odudu and Will Best
AJ and Will are a fun duet (Picture: James Veysey/Shutterstock)

Besties Will, 39, and AJ, 36, have nailed the first seasons of Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother.

Both presenters had been grafting for years to get to this point – while AJ’s star power rose after Strictly Come Dancing, Will was the lesser-known co-host and finally got his big break on the ITV show.

While they’ve got the momentum going, surely the next stop in their journey is a glitzy Saturday night game show.

Katherine Ryan

Katherine Ryan
Katherine needs all the TV shows (Picture: Dave Benett/Getty Images for EE)

The comedian to TV presenter route is a path well-trodden – Michael McIntyre has The Wheel and Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, Joel Dommett is chanting ‘take it off’ over on The Masked Singer, and Lee Mack fronts game show The 1% Club to name a few.

Unfortunately, female comedians seem to have fewer chances to dominate weekend TV. ITV’s Saturday line-up was previously analysed by comedy writer Laura Claxton, who noticed that while men are often entrusted with the fun shows, women can be left on the sidelines.

‘Let women be silly! Let women host entertainment shows! Let women prat about on a holiday! Don’t let broadcasters continue to focus women’s representation on TV around trauma,’ she wrote on X.

Of course, we have some titans of entertainment TV including Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman on Strictly Come Dancing, but we think it’s time for more.

Katherine, 40, has provided she has the capability to keep us entertained on 8 out of 10 Cats as a regular team captain. Plus she’s hosted All That Glitters: Britain’s Next Jewellery Star, as well as documentaries Katherine Ryan: Parental Guidance, where she always brings her trademark humour.

Sophia and Cinzia

Cinzia Baylis-Zulio and Sophia Tuxford
Cinzia and Sophia already have a legion of fans (Picture: Dominic Lipinski/Getty Images)

Ignoring social media stars is something broadcasters should do at their own peril. They may not be famous to everyone, but they are the ultimate celebrity to younger generations.

ITV and BBC have used stars such as Anastasia Kingsnorth and Rachel Leary to promote their offerings and they’ve made excellent contestants too – just look at Saffron Barker and Joe Sugg on Strictly Come Dancing.

With dwindling ratings on traditional TV perhaps now is the time to enlist their help fronting the shows and YouTubers Sophia Tuxford, 25, and Cinzia Zullo, 26, could be an excellent choice. The pair already have a successful podcast, The Girls’ Bathroom, which they’ve taken out on multiple sell-out tours, and they have an impressive 418k subscribers on their YouTube channel.

Plus they are two best friends, who’ve got a natural rapport. The female Ant and Dec? We’d love to see it!

GK Barry

Grace Keeling aka GK Barry
GK Barry has already proved her star power (Picture: Ken McKay/ITV/Shutterstock)

GK Barry is an online star, who has been slowly appearing more on our TV screens.

She made us howl with laughter on Stand Up to Cancer’s Don’t Look Down, and gave her verdict on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here on This Morning. She’s been rumoured for the jungle FYI!

The 24-year-old has garnered plenty of presenting experience on her podcast Saving Grace speaking to everyone from Katie Price to Alison Hammond.

GK Barry, real name Grace Keeling, seems to get their best from her guests by quickly putting them at ease with jokes, and wild questions, so perhaps a chat show is in her future.

Hannah Waddingham

Hannah Waddingham
It’s Hannah’s world, we just live in it (Picture: Vianney Le Caer/Invision/AP)

She may be an actor first and foremost, but she’s an undeniable natural when it comes to presenting. She was the standout host of the recent Eurovision and fronts the prestigious Olivier Award ceremony.

Hannah, 49, is funny, and charming, and even firmly calls out sexism. We need more Hannah.

Jordan Banjo and Perri Kiely

Jordan Banjo and Perri Kiely at Kiss radio
Jordan and Perri have a close friendship (Picture: Getty Images)

Having a friendship prior to presenting together can help with the on-screen chemistry – Jordan, 31, and Perri, 28, are childhood friends who found fame together with dance troupe Diversity, and their closeness is obvious.

Since 2020, the pair have been setting their alarms for the crack of dawn to present Kiss Breakfast radio show.

They’ve created viral moments – who can forget Jordan’s weird pronunciation of crepe that does the rounds every Shrove Tuesday – and are consistently brilliant on the show each morning.

Britain’s Got Talent airs 7:30pm on ITV

Paris Hilton has shared the first picture of her daughter, London, months after her arrival.

The Simple Life icon welcomed her second child with husband Carter Reum, both 43, last November, but has kept the little one under wraps ever since.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2021, were recently forced to explain why they had decided against sharing photos of London’s face publicly for the time being.

With just a few weeks to go until Mother’s Day in the US, Paris took the opportunity to share a stunning family photoshoot with son Phoenix and the newborn.

‘Introducing London Marilyn Hilton-Reum. I’ve dreamed of having a daughter named London for as long as I can remember,’ the Stars Are Blind singer began a lengthy caption. ‘I’m so grateful she is here. I truly cherish every moment I spend with her.

‘Together with Phoenix, my angel babies have shown me a love that I never even knew could run so deep before I became their mother. My incredible journey through motherhood has inspired a new, deeply personal song with my dear friend Sia called “Fame Won’t Love You.”

‘The song serves as a reminder that the special bond I feel with my children, my husband & my family is more valuable than anything else in the world. It’s an anthem that will empower you to hold your most sacred relationships even closer to your heart – whether with family, friends, or yourself.

‘I hope you love it as much as I do. It would mean the world for you to listen to #FameWontLoveYou on repeat today.’

Right on cue, fans and famous faces rushed to congratulate the mom-of-two on the seriously adorable post in the comments below.

Paris’ aunt, Kyle Richards, penned: ‘And now I’m crying. Love you all so much.’

Rumer Willis replied: ‘Omg hi sweet angel.’

As Dakota Fanning agreed: ‘Two angels!!!!!!!!!!’

Instagram follower Kalina Phillips commented: ‘Always been a girl’s girl, and now a girl mom. So proud of you mama p!!!’

‘So cute! Congrats P, you have such a beautiful family, baby Phoenix will be the best big brother for her,’ Itstatan added.

Paris sent fans into a spin last year when she introduced baby London in a surprise post – months after she welcomed Phoenix via a surrogate.

Alongside a snap showing a gorgeous personalized pink outfit in November, she simply announced: ‘Thankful for my baby girl.’

Since then, she has kept her daughter off of her social media pages, but has continued to post glimpses of her son – with vicious trolls mocking the size of his head recently.

Some fans have flooded her social media posts with questions over why she has refrained from posting London – but promised one follower that pictures would be coming ‘soon’.

Responding to a comment on his own page, Carter told another that they were ‘not quite ready to share her [with] the world.

‘But she’s adorable and looks just like her mamma.’

Louis Gossett Jr’s cause of death has been revealed, weeks after he died.

The actor, most known for his roles in Roots and An Officer and a Gentleman, died on March 29, at the age of 87.

His family confirmed the tragic news at the time, thanking those who had paid tribute to the Oscar-winner.

According to reports, he died as a result of a lung condition.

His death certificate, obtained by TMZ, lists chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) as the main cause.

Heart failure and atrial fibrillation were also cited as contributing conditions.

Gossett Jr’s nephew confirmed the sad news of the family’s loss to Associated Press last month, but didn’t initially share the cause of death.

‘It is with our heartfelt regret to confirm our beloved father passed away this morning,’ his loved ones later added in a statement. ‘We would like to thank everyone for their condolences at this time.

‘Please respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time.’

Gossett Jr boasted a career spanning decades, and commanded attention in roles on the stage, the small screen and huge movies.

He first starred in 1953 Broadway play Take A Giant Step as a teenager, before going on to appear opposite Sidney Poitier in the award-winning A Raisin In The Sun – landing a role in the movie adaptation in 1961.

In 1977, he landed one of his most beloved roles in TV mini-series Roots, beside John Amos, LeVar Burton and Leslie Uggams.

He shot to superstardom as an older slave, Fiddler, who is tasked with mentoring Kunta Kinte and teaching him English.

The series was a huge success, landing 37 Emmy nominations during its run – with Gossett Jr taking home the award for outstanding actor for a single appearance in a drama or comedy series.

Five years later, he appeared as Gunnery Sergeant Emil Foley in An Officer and a Gentleman.

In Tyler Hackford’s masterpiece, he played a stern drill instructor who had to get Richard Gere’s Zack Mayo into shape – and underwent 30 days of training at the Marine Corps Recruitment Division for the role.

He was highly praised over the role, and won the best supporting actor Oscar in 1983, becoming the first Black actor to take home the coveted trophy.

As well as this, he was also awarded the best supporting actor in a motion picture title at the Golden Globes.

In 2010, Gossett Jr announced that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, which was said to have been caught in the early stages.

Going public with his health issues, he shared that he wanted to use his platform to encourage others to get themselves checked out.

Speaking to reporters at the time, he explained that he was hoping to ‘set an example for the large number of African-American men who are victims of this disease because of the comparatively low emphasis in our community on preventative examinations and early treatment.

‘I want to influence them to seek, as I have, the fine medical care and early detection now available.’

Gossett Jr is survived by two sons, Satie and Sharron.

Rylan X Factor
X Factor icon Rylan Clark has revealed the real reason behind his audition (Picture: ITV)

Rylan Clark has revealed the ‘honest truth’ behind his famous X Factor audition, and it’s not what we were expecting.

The national treasure, 35, shot to fame on the talent competition back in 2012, finishing in fifth place, but he’s now admitted he had no intentions of doing so.

Rylan’s since gone on to make quite the name for himself, appearing on the likes of Celebrity Big Brother, which he won in 2012, presenting Big Brother’s Bit on the Side and The Xtra Factor, as well as Strictly’s It Takes Two and This Morning.

He’s elsewhere made appearances on Celebrity Gogglebox with his mum Linda, and hosted a BBC Radio 2 show.

But none of it would have happened if it hadn’t have been for ‘Patsy the Peugeot’, with Rylan revealing that he never intended to find fame, but only entered The X Factor because his car broke down.

He said: ‘I never intended what happened for me, to happen. I’ll tell you the Gods honest truth, the reason I went on X Factor was my car just broke down, right? Patsy the Peugeot, long may she rest.

His only intention was to get his car fixed and some gigs in gay clubs (Picture: UKTV)

‘I thought, if I could go on that show, last one week of live shows, get a couple of gigs in some gay clubs, earn about 20 grand, I’ll be able to get a new Patsy, buy my mum a new front door, and might be able to start renting somewhere on my own as I was still living with my mum at the time.’

Rylan went on to The Mirror: ‘Well I’ve built three houses and now I drive a Range Rover so f**k them, I’ve done alright!

‘I don’t know tomorrow, but if it all flies away, I’ve got them two houses. That is
the worst case scenario – living with my mum again.’

Rylan has previously reflected on his journey to stardom, saying he knew he was ‘the joke’ at the start of his career.

He previously told the i: ‘I was the joke, but I knew I was the joke.

‘Listen, I’m not claiming to be f***ing Celine Dion or Mariah, but I can sing. But I weren’t supposed to sing on The X Factor. There is a box for every single person on there, and I ticked the “gay stereotype joke” box.

‘I could either stand there and sing and hope to get through, along with a million other auditionees, or I could play the game and put on a feather boa and a light-up outfit and have an argument with Gary Barlow.’

He added: ‘‘The council estate boy is always going to be there. I’ve not changed. My world changed. My teeth changed, my voice changed, but I never changed. Now people are just realising, “He is quite switched on! He does know what he’s doing!” I knew it years ago, but it was hidden with long blonde extensions and a feather boa.’

After ten years in the industry, Rylan released his tell-all memoir, which was announced after he split from his husband in 2021 after six years of marriage.

He opened up about the toll it took on him and how he suffered two heart failures and was hospitalised following the breakdown of his relationship.

As well as the lows of his personal life, Rylan also reflected on the highs of his career over the ten years, telling his fans at the time: ‘We all know I should have lasted ten minutes, so how I’ve lasted ten years, I’ll never know.’

Channel 4 hit comedy series ‘on hold’ following King Charles and Kate Middleton’s health battles

Channel 4 comedy series The Windsors has reportedly paused filming indefinitely after the news of King Charles and Kate Middleton’s health battles.

The monarch, 75, announced in February that he was undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with cancer, following  surgery for benign prostate enlargement.

Meanwhile, the Princess of Wales underwent abdominal surgery in January, and announced in March that she was undergoing a course of preventative chemotherapy for an unspecified form of cancer.

As the royals take time away from the spotlight to focus on their health, filming for The Windsors has been put on hold.

The satirical comedy follows what the royals would be like in an alternative universe, if all the rumours spiralling around them in the tabloids were true and they were turned into bizarre caricatures.

And the show’s storylines have been pretty wild – and often controversial – seeing Prince Andrews’ daughters Beatrice and Eugenie planning a make-up business on social media, Kate contracting Ebola, Harry dressed as Long John Silver, and Camilla falling pregnant aged 69.

However, following the royals’ health news, filming for season four is said to be on hold.

A Channel 4 spokesperson told British Comedy Guide that ‘production on the new series of The Windsors has been put on hold until further notice’ and didn’t confirm the timetable for its return.

The Windsors first aired in 2016, and has aired three seasons so far, the latest premiering in 2020.

Three specials also premiered: a Christmas Special, a Royal Wedding special and The Coronation Special.

The latest of the 21 episodes saw Donald Trump as Charles and Camilla to become King and Queen of America, while the one before that had Princess Anne reveal her crush on David Beckham.

The Windsors starred Harry Enfield as then-Prince Charles, Haydn Gwynne as Camilla, Hugh Skinner as Prince William, Louise Ford as Kate, Richard Goulding and then Tom Durant-Pritchard as Prince Harry, Kathryn Drysdale as Meghan Markle, and featuring Morgana Robinson as Pippa Middleton, Ellie White as Princess Beatrice and Celeste Dring as Princess Eugenie.

The Windsors came from writers Bert Tyler-Moore and George Jeffrie – who previously brought us spoof documentary series Star Stories.

That show, which aired from 2006-2008, gleefully poked fun at the likes of Robbie Williams, Tom Cruise, Simon Cowell, Britney Spears and the Beckhams.

Metro.co.uk has approached Channel 4 for comment.

Sinitta surrounded by nude spa-goers in ‘bonkers’ live TV moment as viewers left gobsmacked

Just when you thought you’d seen it all, Joe Lycett’s Late Night Lycett may have brought us the most bonkers moment of TV this year, if not ever.

The comedian was joined by Britain’s Got Talent star Alesha Dixon and Take Me Out’s Paddy McGuinness, and Sinitta via video link – who was visiting a nudist spa.

Channel 4 is no stranger to bringing viewers the shock factor, from Naked Attraction to The Great Sex Experiment.

But this took it to all new levels, with viewers absolutely gobsmacked.

During Joe’s ‘Hunderstudies’ segment, Baby Love singer Sinitta was seen relaxing as she was being given a hand massage.

But moments later, as the camera panned out, it was clear she was not alone.

In fact, there were a lot of people roaming around the spa entirely naked.

‘I’m so relaxed I can barely speak,’ she began, saying she’d been there ‘all day’.

But her relaxation was interrupted when Joe’s live audience were left squealing after a naked man walked in to deliver Sinitta a complimentary drink, while Paddy and Alesha were also left hiding their faces.

‘We’re very body positive on this show,’ Joe chimed in with, before joking that one of his producers were trying to ‘censor’ any genitals, and clearly failing.

‘This is absolutely bonkers again and I LOVE IT,’ X user @EloquentParrot wrote.

Lewis added: ‘Oh my god I’ve just cried laughing.’

Kaitlyn wrote: ‘Now THATS what we should be using LIVE tv for!’

‘Seeing Sinitta live on channel 4 in a nudist spa was not on my 2024 bingo card,’ Alex said.

‘Literally choking with the Sinitta sketch This show is class and the celeb guests reactions are priceless,’ Nidgey wrote.

That wasn’t the only moment that had viewers in hysterics on Late Night Lycett, as just moments earlier former Top Gear star Paddy took a vicious swipe at the Tories.

Following EastEnders’ Danny Dyer calling David Cameron a c**t on last week’s show, Paddy reflected on his appearance on Question Time.

‘When you’re working class and brought up in a single-parent family, then getting a job that we do, you think you’re fortunate to be doing that and you have a bit of a platform,’ he began.

‘And I thought, the state of the country and the NHS which we all use and love, and dentistry, everything, housing, I thought, when they asked me – and it’s terrifying – I thought, I can’t not do it.

Sorry, this video isn't available any more.

Paddy McGuinness

‘I can’t not be that person from that world and let that go, so that’s why I did it really.

‘It’s nice to stick the boot in the Tories.’

‘Bonkers, brilliant…and the massive cheer for Paddy McGuinness talking about sticking the boot into the tories,’ viewer JulesBee praised.

Matti added: ‘Honestly watching #LateNightLycett is such a tonic! First Paddy McGuiness calling out the Tories & then Sinitta at the spa- just brilliant TV viewing.’

Late Night Lycett airs 10pm on Fridays on Channel 4.

Claudia Winkleman has revealed an extremely niche fear, related to a longstanding phobia.

The Strictly Come Dancing co-host, 52, made the confession during an appearance on Friday’s edition of The One Show, where she was plugging series two of her ‘anti-talent’ talent show The Piano alongside singer Mika.

Also on the sofa were retired marathon runner Paula Radcliffe and naturalist and presenter Steve Backshall.

After a segment on his show Our Changing Planet, talk turned to his popular CBBC show Deadly 60, with Claudia revealing her kids were fans.

In honour of Jake, 20, Matilda, 17, and 12-year-old Arthur – who she shares with husband of 24 years, producer Kris Thykier – Claudia then explained her phobia and its bizarre consequence.

‘So I’ve had arachnophobia forever,’ she began, referring to a fear of spiders that is common among many people.

Somewhat unexpectedly though, it’s grown into her having an issue with tomatoes (Picture: BBC)

However, he distaste for the creatures had progressed to the next level as she shared she’d even been put off a common food item due to a perceived likeness

‘I can’t have a tomato because there’s the tomato top,’ she shared, gesturing to show she meant the fruit’s stalk and the green fronds known as a calyx.

But the TV star was also excited to tell Steve the progress she has recently made.

‘I went to London Zoo and Dave and John did this,’ she began as the screen revealed a photo of her calmly holding a large tarantula in her hands.

However, thanks to London Zoo, she has since conquered her phobia (Picture: BBC)

‘I am so proud of you! That is awesome,’ enthused Steve, as Claudia responded: ‘He’s a red-knee Mexican tarantula and actually, so sorry, I called him a he – she’s called Millie!’

‘They went, “Would you like to meet Millie?” and I was like, “Sure” and [then] I was like, “Okay…”,’ she added, clearly revealing she had not expecting Millie to be a large spider.

‘But yes, thank you to them,’ she added.

There are pictures of Claudia from 2019, messing around with some tomatoes as she filmed Friday Night Feast with Jamie Oliver and Jimmy Doherty on Southend Pier.

However, in one she appeared to be holding them at arm’s length while another photo showed her grimacing as she bit her nails, as Jamie posed with her arm around her.

With knowledge of her fear now, it seems like she could have been suffering for her art.

There are also major names in the mix to take part, with possible contestants including Rylan Clark, Kathy Burke and Courteney Cox, all of whom have made their fandom public knowledge or been listed as dream signings by producers.

The One Show airs weeknights at 7pm on BBC One.

Dancehall star Elephant Man has claimed he’s father to a whopping 38 children.

The musician – real name Oniel Bryan – is understood to be in his late forties and aged approximately 47.

He previously said he had 20 kids back in 2019, but appears to have significantly increased the size of his brood by fathering another 18 in the five years since.

The Jamaican musician – who was previously a member of the dancehall group Scare Dem Crew before embarking on his solo career – first became a dad at 17.

Elephant Man, also known as the ‘Energy Gad’, dropped this nugget of information in an Instagram Live with his fans last week, according to Dancehall Mag.

‘I have 38 pickney; start from mi a 17,’ the All Out hitmaker said of his parenting situation.

When DJ Noah Powa asked if he wanted more, Elephant Man responded: ‘How yuh mean? Den if it come, it nuh come bredda. Weh you a talk bout?’

The reggae star also gave a rather a large hint at how he could have ended up with nearly 40 children, openly stating he doesn’t bother with birth control, such as condoms.

‘You nah sex your woman inna nuh condom. You ever go to your woman inna her house inna condom, yuh inna trouble,’ he claimed during the same Live.

Elephant Man also suggested his diet and natural remedies had allowed him to boast such virility, which he called ‘fit back’.

The Pon De River, Pon De Bank singer has previously denied claims that he’s an absentee father, owing to the sheer number of kids he has, as well as contentious relationships with some of their mothers.

‘We’ve been through it. When you’re a likkle youth coming from nothing to something, people a go talk things, but at the end of the day, never mek a rumour be true,’ he told Jamaican publication The Gleaner in 2019.

‘Me take care of my kids, but sometimes you and the mother have a dispute, and you know how that go.’

In the same interview, he also addressed rumours that he had AIDS (acquired immune deficiency syndrome) owing to past sexual encounters without protection.

HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is a virus that damages the cells in your immune system and weakens your ability to fight everyday infections and disease.

It can be transmitted from one person to another via semen, vaginal and anal fluids, blood and breast milk, and the most common way of getting HIV in the UK is through having sex without a condom, according to the NHS.

If HIV is left untreated, it can lead to AIDS, which is the name used to describe a number of potentially life-threatening infections and illnesses that happen when your immune system has been severely damaged by the HIV virus.

Getting rid of open world games would solve a lot of gaming’s problems – Reader’s Feature

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth screenshot
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth – would it have been better without the open world sections? (Picture: Square Enix)

A reader suggests that open world design is behind many of gaming’s ills and getting rid off it would save time and money and improve games.

Like any gamer at the moment, I’m very concerned about the direction the video games industry is going in, and frustrated that Microsoft, and particularly, Sony don’t seem in the slightest bit interested in calming the situation down or explaining themselves. I’m particularly worried that the amount of time and money needed to make modern games is going to greatly restrict the types of games that are made, which is especially annoying as there’s one thing that you could get rid of and solve a lot of problems: open world games.

Open world games have been around since the 80s and while they’re not technically a genre, just a feature, when you say open world game everyone knows what you mean: something influenced by Ubisoft games like Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry, where you explore the whole of a massive world filled with dozens of repetitive side missions, a radar full of icons, and towers that have to be climbed to fill in your map.

Like anything, they were fun when they started but annoying once there was too many of them, with the problem being that publishers realised that they were the lucrative type of single-player game, because people felt they were getting lots of value for money for them and were usually quite receptive to DLC. But now they’re basically a plague on single-player games, responsible for squeezing out everything else and making bloat and padding, i.e. too much content, a serious problem.

Gears 5, Halo Infinite, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, Metal Gear Solid 5, Mass Effect Andromeda, even the recent Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. None of those games needed to be open world and neither do most others, it’s just added in because they think it’s a selling point and avoids any of that tricky level design that video games used to have to do.

The problem is that so many single-player games think they have to be open world, which is obviously much more expensive than making an ordinary level-based game, because there’s so much more ground to cover and then you have to fill it with things to do. That’s also more time-consuming and so you quickly begin to understand why games are having this problem where they’re taking too long to make and costing too much.

A lot of people have been saying publishers should go back to making AA games, but no one’s going to put up with purposefully worse graphics and systems. It’s just not what they’re used to, and publishers have basically trained us all to expect more at this point. But stop games being open world and it would instantly save a lot of money, and I think very few people would complain.

Naturally, I’m not saying getting rid of all them. Obviously, the Zelda games were a triumph, but that should be an exception to the rule. Just like when every game was shoehorning in a multiplayer mode in the Xbox 360 era, even though that’s not why people bought the games, now it seems publishers make games open world for no reason other than it’s kind of expected.

If games are going to cut their budgets, then they’re going to have to do it in a sensible way that’s actually a benefit to the game and I believe removing bloat and padding, and stopping everything from being a 60 hour long slog, is good for everyone involved.

The Fallout TV show is what the video games always should’ve been – Reader’s Feature

$

0
Ella Purnell's Lucy added to Fallout 4 (Picture: NexusMods)
Fallout TV vs. Fallout 4 (Picture: NexusMods)

A reader praises Amazon’s adaptation of Fallout and looks at the differences in approach to storytelling between it and other video games.

What was interesting to me about The Last Of Us TV show is that many people, including myself, thought that it was a lot better than the game, especially when it came to the dialogue and acting. That’s despite the fact that The Last Of Us game is acclaimed as one of the best story-based titles ever. And yet when stood next to a high-end TV show – one that even had some of the same people working on it – the difference is very noticeable.

It seems no matter how hard a game tries it can never match the quality of a traditional live action production. I think the length of games is one problem. A movie is two hours long, but video game writers have got to make their scripts stretch over much longer than that. The Last Of Us Part 2 is something like 30 hours! So, obviously, it’s much harder to maintain quality and also to have a story that justifies being that long.

The other problem is the actors. Sometimes it feels like gaming only has half a dozen of them. Just look at the credits for Troy Baker or Jennifer Hale and it seems like it’d be harder to find a game they haven’t been in. Not that they’re necessarily bad actors but they’re not top tier, and yet when publishers do get in well-known Hollywood actors, they usually just phone it in, because to them video games are just a quick and easy job between real roles and they realise the script isn’t great (also they’re really expensive, which is a big problem when it comes to overall budget).

Because The Last Of Us is so good the difference between the show and the games isn’t that massive, and doesn’t put you off the games, but you see the same differences with the Fallout TV show and because the Fallout games have terrible storytelling suddenly the difference is like night and day.

Fallout is a great show, that anyone can enjoy without having any knowledge of the games. But the games… well, they’re Bethesda games. Which means a cool open world, lots of customisation and interactivity, great mods, and a story that absolutely nobody cares about. I still don’t know what the plot is in Fallout 4 and I’ve put in 150 hours into that game, and I’m sure many others have too since you could say the same thing about Oblivion and Skyrim.

With Bethesda it seems like they’re actually getting worse with their scripts as they go along, as Starfield’s characters are so completely forgettable I don’t know a single on of their names. Except maybe the main woman might be Sarah? Fallout 4 has better characters but only by comparison, with a lot of them being dull and some flat-out embarrassing, like the sexy French robot that gets a female human body and immediately falls in love with you.

I’m not going to pretend I didn’t enjoy Curie’s missions, but can you imagine something like that being played straight in the show? The difference between what is ‘good enough’ in video games and what seems embarrassing and childish in live action is pretty wild and I’m sure every Fallout fan is now wishing that the games were as smart and funny as the show.

The closest they’ve ever got is Fallout: New Vegas, which is the only modern game that wasn’t made by Bethesda, so, based on Starfield I’m not sure we’ll ever get there.

I can’t help realising the irony here is that for decades Hollywood has felt it was too good for video games and treated them as low effort cash-ins, and yet they were kind of right. Now that games have got better at storytelling though, it’s obvious how far behind they still are and how they may never bridge the gap.

The ‘lazy’ TV star and other celebrities running the London Marathon 2024

A whole host of celebs are taking to the streets of London this weekend for the 2024 marathon (Picture: PA/JustGiving/BBC)

The 2024 London Marathon is set to be a star-studded affair as a whole host of celebrities don their running gear for the second-largest annual road race in the UK.

This year, the likes of Romesh Ranganathan, Christopher Eccleston, and Ruth Wilson will run in aid of charity, setting off on Sunday (April 21) along with 50,000 other runners fundraising and chasing personal goals.

The London Marathon is no small feat, of course, as participants run a 26.2-mile (42.2km) footrace through the capital.

So, training has been intense, with plenty of celebrities spotted across recent months getting the miles in.

Let’s take a look at who you might spot…

Romesh Ranganathan

Romesh Ranganthan
Will Romesh Ranganthan’s training pay off? (Picture: Getty Images for Sky)

Romesh is far better known for his comedy than his running abilities, but that doesn’t mean he won’t give it a go.

Having dreaded cross-country in school, he admitted that he’s ‘lazy’ when it comes to the sport.

Speaking previously to Runner’s World about the marathon, he described it as an ‘impossible’ challenge that also appealed to him.

‘I don’t think I fully appreciated how hard it was going to be,’ he said of his training.

‘The training is difficult, there’s no getting around that. But that’s also part of it, otherwise, everyone would be smashing out marathons every other week.’

Romesh Ranganthan
The self-confessed ‘lazy’ star has been putting the hours in (Picture: PA)

He added that, during training, he ‘encounters things he’s never encountered before.’

‘You’re doing distance you’ve never done before. And you meet challenges you didn’t realise were involved. It’s tough but enjoyable at the same time.’

Romesh is running for a very good cause, though, as he raises funds for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably).

‘On more than one occasion in life when I was younger, I came very close to taking my own life. I hit rock bottom,’ he said. ‘I experienced the sensation of feeling that suicide was the solution to my issues, so I can relate to people in that position.’

Christopher Eccleston

Christopher Eccleston alongside Big Issue vendor Easton

Doctor Who icon Christopher Eccleston is swapping the TARDIS for the tarmac in the name of The Big Issue.

The actor – who played the ninth incarnation of the Time Lord – has just tuned 60, but insists a run always helps him feel better.

‘To be wearing the Big Issue colours is incredible. The last one I ran was when I was 50. So, my plan is to run at 60, 70, 80, 90, and 100. And then I’ll retire!’, he joked.

Christopher predicted: ‘I think I’ll be okay at 20 miles, but I don’t know where I’m going to find that next six miles.’

Ruth Wilson

Ruth Wilson and family

Actress Ruth Wilson will be sweating it out in aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Her inspiration for the challenge comes after her father’s recent diagnosis, with Ruth and her three siblings and nephew deciding to run to raise funds and awareness.

The Luther star’s father actually completed the marathon himself once, so they’re hoping to beat his time of three hours and 15 minutes.

In a statement, the Wilson family said: ‘Whether we run together or in healthy competition with each other is yet to be seen but with every step, dad will be in our hearts, together with the hundreds of thousands living with this awful disease and those caring for them.’

Tom Grennan

Tom Grennan
Tom Grennan is putting down the microphone and putting on his running gear (Picture: Justin Setterfield/Getty Images)

He’s no stranger to topping the charts, but how will Tom Grennan fare when it comes to securing a good time in this year’s marathon?

Well, the London-based star certainly has both youth and stamina on his side, given how he previously smashed it at Soccer Aid, and is set to play again this year.

However, the singer has only been training for the London Marathon for eight weeks but has been vlogging his journey to the marathon online.

Hoping he’s doing enough will be Shelter, the homeless charity he’s fundraising for.

Emma Barton and Jamie Borthwick

Jamie Borthwick and Emma Barton

Emma Barton and Jamie Borthwick are best known as Honey Mitchell and Jay Brown respectively, who are the characters they play in EastEnders.

What’s different about their part in this year’s London Marathon is they will actually be running as Honey and Jay.

It’s unclear if they’ll be supporting a charity or what the scenes will look like in the final edit.

But, we do know that the two will be running to honour Jay’s late wife, Lola Pearce-Brown, who died from a brain tumour last year.

Phil Dunster

Phil Dunster is loved by fans for his non-nonsense portrayal of Jamie Tartt in Ted Lasso.

For the marathon, the actor will fundraise for Young Lives Versus Cancer and run proudly sporting their t-shirt.

He said the charity cemented a place in his heart when they helped his cousins family cover their medical bills and provided emotional support throughout a tough time.

‘I’m equal parts excited and terrified that I’ll be running the London Marathon this year,’ he said in a press release.

‘I want to raise as much as I can to help Young Lives Versus Cancer social workers be there for more children like Rory and their parents.’

Em Clarkson may have given birth 14 months ago, but she certainly won’t let that stop her.

The daughter of Jeremy Clarkson and Metro.co.uk agony aunt has completed marathons before, but this is her first major post-partum challenge.

Em wrote on Instagram amid her training: ‘If I walk it, if I crawl it, even if I don’t make it, I’m SO just so f***ingg proud of myself for getting here.

‘My pregnancy was brutal, and this time last year I was still struggling to do my morning walk or sit up on my own. This marathon was a dream but I never let myself hope I’d make it a reality. BUT HERE WE F***ING ARE!!!’

Natalie Pinkman

Natalie Pinkman is hoping to complete her first-ever marathon this weekend in aid of Samaritans.

The Sky Sports F1 presenter is making her marathon debut this year in memory of her late friend, Caroline Flack, who took her life in 2020.

Natalie also co-founded the festival Flackstock in memory of the TV presenter,

She said: ‘Samaritans is one of the charities we support at Flackstock and I love everything that it stands for. I know what a difference the money raised will make and the lives it will save.

‘It’s going to be a tough challenge, but anytime I have a low moment, I think of Flacky and dig a bit deeper.’

Eighties movie legend, 68, unrecognisable 44 years after massive hit movie
Eighties movie legend Debra Winger now looks unrecognisable, 44 years after her hit movie (Picture: Rex)

Eighties Hollywood legend Debra Winger looks completely unrecognisable 44 years after starring in the hit movie Urban Cowboy.

The actress, now 68, rose to fame in such Hollywood hits as An Officer and a Gentleman and Terms of Endearment.

She was perhaps most well-known for her 1980 romantic drama Urban Cowboy, in which she played the spunky love interest to John Travolta.

Debra was nominated for a number of awards for her performance in the film, including a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress and a Bafta for Most Promising Newcomer to Leading Film Roles.

However, the star stepped out of the spotlight in the mid-nineties – not appearing on the big screen again for six years after the release of 1995’s Forget Paris.

Debra, now 68, stepped out recently to appear at the Drive Away Dolls premiere in New York.

Wearing her curly hair its now-natural silver, the actress wore a dark blazer with a blue blouse, loose-fitting dark trousers, and chunky black boots.

She accessorised with a multicoloured check scarf, while a pair of dark-rimmed glasses showed off her sparkling blue eyes.

Debra was accompanied by her son, Gideon Babe Ruth Howard, 26, who posed with his mum for a series of snaps on the red carpet.

Although she looks unrecognisable from her movie heyday, she retains a similar sense of fashion – including her thick, once-brunette curls, and minimal make-up.

During her time away from Hollywood, the actress worked as a lecturer at Harvard University and even wrote a book on her ‘retirement’ from acting.

In the memoir, she describes how she chose to step away from the silver screen to forge a life beyond acting.

‘I love the work,’ she wrote. ‘And don’t much care for the business.’

In addition to her nominations for Urban Cowboy, the actress won a National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Actress in 1984 and scored Best Actress Oscar nominations for An Officer and a Gentleman, Terms of Endearment and Shadowlands.

In 1996, Debra married writer/director Arliss Howard, whom she met on the set of the film Wilder Napalm. They have three children together – one each from a previous marriage, plus a son Gideon, born in 1997.

Prior to meeting Arliss, Debra was married to actor Timothy Hutton, with whom she had her first son, Noah Hutton.

Winger’s profile has risen again in recent years, with the actress starring as Maggie Bennett in the hit Netflix soap opera The Ranch.

Since her return to filmmaking, she has also appeared in episodes of Law & Order, Mr. Corman and In Treatment.

In 2014, she won the TIFF Award for Lifetime Achievement.

The most valuable vinyls ever revealed – could your collection be worth £10,000?

If you’r’e a Beatles fan, it could be your lucky day (Picture: Scott K MacLeod/REX/Shutterstock)

We’ve all heard about innocent-looking Harry Potter books paying off mortgages – but have you ever considered the treasures that could be hiding in your record collection?

If your wedge of vinyls has been handed down and spans back to the 60s and 70s, you may just own a £10,000 cultural relic. Or perhaps there’s one sitting in your local charity shop with a £5 price tag.

If you are lucky enough to own the UK’s most valuable vinyls then call your mother – you just won £67,000.

As today is April 20 – Record Store Day, don’t you know? – why not have a flick through those old boxes and find out if you’ve got one of the following treasures.

From the likes of The Beatles to Led Zeppelin, the company A2D2 – which connects analogue music devices to smart speaker sound systems – has researched the UK’s most valuable records, and here are the results.

The UK’s most valuable vinyl records revealed

The Beatles – The White Album

The White Album is the colloquial name for the band’s ninth studio album, officially called The Beatles.

But because of its blank white exterior, the album – which simply has The Beatles written on its cover – is now known better by its pretty self-explanatory nickname.

The Beatles self-titled 1968 vinyl double-LP, better known as the White Album
An original of the White Album is perhaps one of the most valuable records out there (Picture: Scott K MacLeod/REX/Shutterstock)

The 1968 album contains some of The Beatles’ biggest hits including A Hard Day’s Night, Eight Days A Week, Girl, And I Love Her and All My Loving. It’s also the only double Beatles album from legends George Harrison, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and John Lennon.

Original copies – especially those with low serial numbers, in pristine condition and with the original Apple logo – can be worth a fortune, potentially fetching up to £10,000.

Complex – Complex

Complex’s self-titled rock album – with an iconic skeletal tree on a burnt orange background – was only pressed 99 times, and is one of the most sought-after psychedelic albums of all time.

Recorded in 1970, Complex’s album includes songs Funny Feeling, Green Eyed Lucy, Witch’s Spell, and Norwegian Butterfly.

An immaculate copy was picked up for £1 and later sold for a whopping £10,000. So it’s worth checking…

Dark – Round the Edges

With only 40 copies ever pressed, Dark’s Round The Edges – their debut album – is a real prize.

With tracks including Darkside, Maypole, The Cat, and Zero Time, this psychedelic 1972 rock album in its original form is considered to be the holy grail of record collections.

One of these rare copies could be worth up to £8,350.

Led Zeppelin – Led Zeppelin

Of vocalist Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist and keyboardist John Paul Jones, and drummer John Bonham’s many brilliant creations, among record collectors their self-titled debut studio album is of biggest value.

The 1969 album – which includes Dazed and Confused, I Can’t Quit You Baby, Good Times Bad Times, and Black Mountain Side – was recorded at Olympic Studios in London shortly after the band formed.

With its turquoise typography and a unique Superhype credit, one of the first pressings of Led Zeppelin’s debut album was sold for £7,100 in 2013.

A Fleeting Glance – A Fleeting Glance

Another psychedelic rock album on the list is A Fleeting Glance – a record put together by a variety of mysterious musicians at a social club. It allegedly includes an uncredited appearance by Billy Fury.

Only five copies of this curious album are known to exist, and so if another is found it could be worth up to £6,400.

The Beatles – Please Please Me

The Beatles’ debut album, Please Please Me, was first released on March 22 1963 with bangers including Love Me Do, Twist and Shout, and Please Please Me, and – naturally – it’s worth a lot of money.

The early UK Parlophone pressings with the black and gold label are highly sought after, worth up to £6,000.

John Lennon once revealed the band recorded their first album in one long twelve hour session.

‘The last song to be done was a song called Twist and Shout, which nearly killed me,’ he said.

Sir Paul McCartney also recalled how Lennon had to save Twist and Shout until last to preserve his throat.

‘John was sucking zoobs all day – those little throat tablets. And he finally had to do Twist and Shout knowing he had to do it last because it would just rip his throat apart to do it,’ he said.

‘It was great. You can still hear that on the record.’

Sex Pistols – God Save the Queen

The Sex Pistols’ God Save The Queen boasts one of the most recognisable record covers in British history, as the band name and record title over Queen Elizabeth II’s eyes and mouth proved wildly controversial at the time.

Released in May 1997 in the midst of Queen Elizabeth II’s Silver Jubilee – the band denied this timing was intentional – the song went on to cause uproar.

Written in Johnny Rotten’s London squat, the record was banned by the BBC who described it as an example of ‘gross bad taste’. It was also banned by the Independent Broadcasting Authority, which regulated Independent Local Radio.

Amid the furore, band members Paul Cook and Johnny Rotten were also physically assaulted by offended monarchists with razors and iron bars.

Nowadays, a first pressing on the A&M label, which was quickly withdrawn, can command a price of up to £6,000.

Joy Division – An Ideal For Living

An Ideal for Living is the first EP by post-punk band Joy Division, released on June 23, 1978, not long after they changed their name from Warsaw.

They released the EP under their own label, Enigma, before later signing to Tony Wilson and Martin Hannett’s Factory Records.

The EP was recorded at Pennine Sound Studios in Oldham and includes four tracks: Warsaw, No Love Lost, Leaders of Men and Failures.

The record was largely self-financed on a budget of just £400, and only 1,000 copies were pressed. Every record is said to have been individually folded by the bandmates.

An Ideal For Living also caused controversy with its cover, showing a member of the Hitler Youth.

Later that year, the EP was re-pressed as a 12″. Only genuine original pressings have an anti-slip ring on the centre label of the 7″ – and they are all black vinyl.

If you’ve got one of these in good condition, you could be £4,700 richer.

A former WWE Champion is among the superstars to be let go from the company in a batch of releases.

Jinder Mahal, who became the first man of Indian descent to hold the title when he picked up an unlikely win over Randy Orton at Backlash in 2017, is set to leave the professional wrestling giant alongside teammates Veer Mahan, Sanga, Xia Lee and Xyon Quinn.

Any talent released from Raw or SmackDown – such as Jinder – will have a 90-day noncompete clause barring them from wrestling for another company, while NXT superstar Xyon will have a 30-day wait.

‘I Quit. Maharaja Out 💰,’ Jinder tweeted, while he changed his X bio to: ‘🔥 Free Agent – 90 Days.’

Despite suggesting he walked out, multiple reports suggest the former 3MB member – who was part of the memorable group with Drew McIntyre and Heath Slater – was indeed released.

In a message translated from Hindi, his Indus Sher teammate Veer wrote: ‘When it comes to the honor and respect of Indians, sacrifice comes first. Good Bye WWE 🙏🏾 Jai Jai Shri Ram 🙇🏽‍♂️🚩’

In a lengthy statement on social media, Xia Li reflected on her seven years since joining WWE as the company’s first female Chinese superstar.

She wrote: ‘I feel incredibly proud! I am sincerely grateful to WWE and HHH for welcoming me into this big family. During this valuable time, I have not only grown tremendously but also learned countless invaluable experiences.

‘Thank you for your trust and the opportunities you have given me to break barriers and set an example.’

She also voiced her gratitude for the coaches at the Performance Center, as well as her co-workers and other staff for their ‘support and assistance’ as she adjusted to life ‘in a foreign land’.

Xia had kind words for the fans and described their ‘backing’ as her ‘strength’.

She continued: ‘This journey with WWE has been wonderful, and I sincerely thank everyone who has been a part of it. This is not the end but a new beginning! Let’s embrace more exciting moments together!’

Her fellow wrestlers have flooded social media with messages of support, as Iyo Sky admitted she was heartbroken.

The WWE Women’s Champion’s Damage CTRL teammate Kairi Sane added: ‘I don’t want to believe it. I’m really sad. I don’t know how many times your kindness has saved me… Love you so much, @XiaWWE.’

‘It’s okay, I’m still here for you,’ replied Xia, while Taya Valkyrie wrote: ‘You’re a ⭐️ @XiaWWE!! You’ve got this, the world has been put on notice 🥰 x’

And Chelsea Green tweeted: ‘Xia is one of my favourite people. We bonded at the performance center immediately ♥️ I’m sad to see her go, but she’s one of the most driven people I know. It’s only up from here!!’

Huge blaze engulfs iconic hotel used in 80s horror classic

Home to creepy twins, ghoulish guests, and an axe wielding Jack Nicholson, the Overlook Hotel is a key character in The Shining.

Now, the real life Oregon hotel where the 1980 Stanley Kubrick adaptation of the popular Stephen King novel was filmed has broken out into a huge blaze.

On Thursday evening, the historic Timberline Lodge went up in flames as guests slept inside, although thankfully nobody was hurt.

Four different fire departments attended the remote scene in the community of Government Camp, which sits around around 60 miles east of Portland.

At around 9.30pm the attic of the iconic building set alight, taking an estimated two hours to get under control as wind whipped away any water sprayed.

Staff had called emergency services and managed to get everyone safely outside while attempts were made to save any historical artifacts.

John Burton, the lodge’s marketing director, told local paper The Oregonian that he was grateful for the fire crews and added that the shock blaze was ‘a first’ for the iconic hotel.

‘I think we just need to look at this as it could have been a lot worse,’ he said. ‘It was extremely windy, so it didn’t help the cause, but [I] can’t thank the first responders enough.’

The fire mainly impacted the attic and roof of the building, with Burton suggesting embers in the chimney had been the cause but this has not been confirmed.

One guest, Taylor Hatmaker, recounted to the paper how they heard an alarm blaring and could see sparks flying around the chimney once outside.

She shared: ‘It’s emotional seeing something so emblematic of our state with such history on fire. It’s such a historic, special building.

‘Timberline means a lot of things to a lot of people.’

The Timberline Lodge serves as the imposing outside of the Overlook Hotel plus some internal scenes, although much was filmed at Elstree Studios.

An imaginary room 237 was used to film as hotel owners were worried using real room 217 would scare off potential guests.

However, the featured room in King’s novel is actually the most requested one of all as fans hope to walk in Nicholson and Shelley Duvall’s footsteps.

It has an even more historic claim to fame though as in 1937, the hotel was opened by then-US President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

In 1977, the year before filming began, it was declared a National Historic Landmark and now draws nearly 2,000,000 visitors every year.

BBC News forced to apologise after accidentally flashing image of sex scandal MP

BBC newsreader Ben Brown had to apologise after MP William Wragg was accidentally shown during a report about MP Mark Menzies.

At the end of Friday’s bulletin, the News At One presenter issued an apology after the wrong image flashed up on screen earlier in the programme.

Tory MP Menzies, a government trade envoy, has been suspended from the party as officials investigate allegations he misused thousands of pounds of campaign funds.

However, while discussing those claims, the BBC team accidentally showed Wragg, who recently resigned from his roles after being blackmailed into sharing colleagues’ phone numbers by a suspected scammer on Grindr.

After the mix-up, Brown said: ‘Now we just need to apologise for a mistake earlier in the programme when we were telling you about allegations against the MP Mark Menzies but we showed a picture of the MP William Wragg which was an error.’

His apology marked the end of the programme, which then faded out.

It isn’t the first time a BBC News broadcast has mistakenly shown Wragg’s image, as a similarly awkward mishap occurred just last week.

On April 9, BBC Breakfast host Sally Nugent was discussing the top headlines as she opened by revealing Wragg had stepped down from his role as vice chairman of the 1922 Committee over his scandal.

She also mentioned Simon Harris, who was due to become Irish Prime Minister later that day, but a photograph of Wragg appeared on the screen behind her.

Despite glancing at the erroneous image, she didn’t acknowledge the mistake and instead carried on with the report.

Wragg had faced calls to resign after telling The Times that he gave out colleagues’ contact details after sending intimate photos of himself to someone on a dating app.

He said that he had been scared into handing over the information because they ‘had compromising things on me’.

The unknown scammer is said to have used the aliases ‘Charlie’ and ‘Abi’ while sending flirtatious messages to coax MPs into sending explicit pictures.

Scotland Yard is investigating the scam that involved at least 12 men in political circles who received unsolicited messages.

It centres on the Kim family, who are all unemployed and living in a squalid basement in Seoul, South Korea.

David Beckham is taking legal action against Mark Wahlberg after a fitness deal left him more than £8,000,000 out of pocket.

The footballing legend’s firm, DB Ventures Ltd, claims the actor ‘duped’ Beckham into collaborating with F45.

F45 Training is an Australian franchiser and operator of fitness centres based in Austin, Texas, in which fitness guru Wahlberg bought a minority stake in 2019.

Beckham, 48, agreed to be the firm’s global ambassador when he moved to Los Angeles in 2007, relocating his family when he signed a deal to join LA Galaxy.

He and Wahlberg, 52, soon became friends then, in November 2020, Beckham signed on to work with F45.

However, their partnership allegedly turned sour after the Manchester United star promoted his own range of personalised workouts.

What followed was a row over shares he claimed to have been promised.

As reported by The Sun, DBVL alleges shares in the company were promised to be shared in early 2022.

But, they were not divulged until months later. By this time, the share price had dropped from around $12 (£9.70) a share to $3 (£2.43) per share.

Lawyers for Beckham claim he lost out on £8.5million in potential profit because of the delay.

Beckham is also suing the actor’s firm, Mark Wahlberg Investment Group (MWIG), and gym group F45’s founders Adam Gilchrist and Rob Deutsch.

Wahlberg and his co-defendants have branded the claims baseless, imploring a judge to dismiss the allegations of ‘fraudulent conduct’.

The defendants’ motion to dismiss goes on to say DBVL are blaming everyone but themselves.

‘The 209-page, 610-paragraph SAC [complaint] tries to make up with length what it lacks in merit.’

Beckham originally filed the lawsuit several years ago and the case has been rumbling on ever since.

It began when the footie star and golfing legend Greg Norman both launched suits against F45 in Californian courts in October 2022.

A judge then reportedly ruled they had to file separate lawsuits.

Meanwhile, F45’s share price was once at $16 (£12.94) a share, but they are now worth just 15 cents.
