Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder marriage blocked because she was ‘too young’ says Hairspray director

Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder were reportedly desperate to get married when they dated in the 90s but their fairytale dream was halted as the actress was ‘too young’.

The Hollywood stars famously dated between 1989 and 1993 after starring together in Edward Scissorhands.

It seemed Johnny, 55, and Winona, 47, were so in love that they wanted to make their relationship official by tying the knot.

And they reportedly tried to enlist their friend, Hairspray director John Waters, to marry them in a ceremony but he managed to talk them out of it.

John, 73, worked with Johnny on the 1990 movie Cry-Baby and was ordained as a minister solely to officiate Johnny and Winona’s wedding ceremony.

However, John didn’t think it was the best idea as Winona was aged 19 at the time and Johnny aged 27.

Recalling the situation in his new memoir Mr Know-It-All: the Tarnished of a Filth Elder, John writes: ‘Before we wrapped Depp’s lawyers did the paperwork to get me ordained as a minister in the Universal Life Church because (he and Ryder) wanted me to perform the marriage ceremony, but I gently talked them out of it because Winona was so young.’

According to John, Winona’s parents were grateful that he managed to dissuade the couple from getting hitched and actually ‘thanked’ him.

In 2016, Winona spoke out about her relationship with Johnny to defend him against abuse allegations.

Johnny was accused of being physically and emotionally abusive to his ex-wife Amber Heard but Winona said she did not see this side of him during their former relationship.

In legal documents, the Stranger Things actress stated: ‘I can only speak from my own experience, which was wildly different than what is being said.

‘He was never, never that way towards me. Never abusive at all towards me. I only know him as a really good, loving, caring guy who is very, very protective of the people that he loves.’

Elsewhere in his book, John claimed Johnny ‘hated being the Justin Bieber of his time and figured making a movie with me was a surefire way to haywire that image’.

The people have spoken – and they want Danny DeVito to take over as Wolverine.

A new change.org petition is gaining speed with over 20,000 signatures calling on the famed Hollywood actor to be cast as the X-Men character following on from Hugh Jackman’s decision to put away his claws after 20 years.

His casting would actually make sense as in the Marvel comics the X-Men character is known to be 5′ 3″; Danny is only 4′ 10″.

‘The only man able to take the throne after Hugh Jackman,’ reads the petition, which was started by Marvel fan Ring Arius.

‘We believe that if Wolverine is to make an appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that the only man able to pull it off is Danny DeVito.’

The X-Men is of course owned by Marvel but due to studio contracts, the characters have yet to appear in the hugely successful MCU which kicked off in 2008 with Iron Man.

Hugh first played Wolverine in 2000’s X-Men and continued with the role for several years including X:2 and The Last Stand.

He starred in his own standalone in 2009’s Wolverine and and 2013’s The Wolverine.

He made a final appearance in 2017’s award-winning Logan but has insisted that although he believes the character will return, he does not believe he will ever appear on screen as the clawed hero again.

Game of Thrones’ Gwendoline Christie predicted Bran Stark ending two years ago and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau summed up all the flaws

Warning: This article contains spoilers from the Game of Thrones finale, The Iron Throne.

Absolutely no one saw Bran Stark claiming the Iron Throne (after it had melted) in the Game of Thrones finale, other than Gwendoline Christie who told us what would happen two years ago.

The Iron Throne was slated by fans and critics, becoming Game of Thrones’ lowest rated episode of all time.

Bran – really? The kid who did nothing other than watch thousands of innocent civilians die at the flames of Daenerys Targaryen’s (Emilia Clarke) ‘madness’, knowing what was coming all along? Yeah, that guy.

While millions of us are still shook by the outcome of the past nine years, Gwen – who starred as Brienne of Tarth – predicted Bran’s fate years ago in an Extra interview with Jaime Lannister star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who, like us, wasn’t so keen on the idea.

While Nik was adamant Dany (Emilia Clarke) or The Night King (Vladimir Furdik) would claim the Iron Throne, his co-star intervened.

‘But don’t you think it’s going to be someone out of left field?’ The British-born actress asked. ‘Don’t you think those two are the obvious choices?’

‘What we know about the show is that it constantly surprises you, so I’m wondering if it might be Bran,’ she continued. ‘Just because we keep seeing the world from his perspective, we keep seeing the visions.

‘Is he in the future projecting in the past?’

But Nikolaj had exactly the same reaction to fans: ‘The Three-Eyed Raven as the King? That doesn’t make sense. He’s already seeing the future and planning the future and the past.’

He added: ‘If this is real then he also told Jamie to push him out of the window.’

We’re with Nikolaj, as are the 1.5 million angry fans who have signed a petition demanding Game of Thrones season eight is entirely remade.

Game of Thrones season one to eight are available to stream on NOW TV.

After five years, Ninja Warrior’s greatest obstacle has been beaten.

Not for the faint of heart, the final stage of the game show concludes with a near-impossible task which features a 22-metre rope climb, known as Mount Midoriyama.

No-one has yet made it to this stage on Ninja Warrior UK but hosts Chris Kamara and Ben Shephard have revealed that the show finally has a winner, who completed the task in a brilliant 45-seconds.

Chris and Ben would not confirm the contestant, but confirmed that the valiant winner will be revealed on the grand final on 1 June.

Based on the Japanese assault course game show Sasuke, the ITV show is the ultimate battle of strength, speed and courage challenge and its perfect viewing for a Saturday night.

Across 31 seasons to air in 19 countries, only six people have ever made it to the top of Mount Midoriyama; four are from Japan, two are from the US.

The obstacle is completed when the contestant climbs to the top and presses a buzzer.

Competitors from across the nation push themselves to the brink in order to exhibit their strength, speed and courage on the obstacle course.

The adrenaline-fuelled mission sees some hopefuls fall by the wayside; the Ninja Warrior course is hailed as the toughest obstacle course on TV.

Last year’s winner, Tim Shieff, came painstakingly close to completing it before falling on its penultimate challenge – the flying bars.

Ninja Warrior UK airs on ITV on Saturdays at 6.30pm.

The Lonely Island have pulled a Beyonce and dropped a visual album – and we’re sure the Beyhive is shaking.

Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone are back with new music, and this time they’re lampooning baseball stars Jose Canseco and Mark McGwire in their visual rap album The Unauthorised Bash Brothers Experience.

The group teased the new project on Twitter last night, announcing a ‘visual poem’ would be dropping on Netflix at midnight.

And as well as dropping on Netflix, The Unauthorised Bash Brothers Experience launched on Spotify, meaning there’s plenty of ways for you to soak up the musical genius.

The 11-song album features Jose & Mark, Uniform On, Let’s Bash, Oakland Nights, Focused AF, Focus On The Game, Bikini Babe Workout, IHOP, IHOP Parking Lot, Feed The Beast and Daddy, which discuss topics like ‘booty rashes’, steroids and making love with baseball uniforms on.

The Lonely Island have been joined by Sia on Oakland Nights and Haim and Maya Rudolph on IHOP Parking Lot – following up their grand tradition of enlisting celebs for their music, having previously worked with Justin Timberlake, Akon, Lady Gaga and T-Pain.

And in the visual album, Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Stephanie Beatriz, Sterling K Brown, Jenny Slate, Hannah Simone and Jim O’Heir all make appearances.

The Bash Brothers were Canseco and McGwire, who led Oakland Athletics to a World Series title in 1989 and became famous for bashing each other’s forearms when they hit a home run – hence the Bash Brothers nickname.

After their retirements, both athletes admitted to using anabolic steroids.

The Lonely Island this year appeared on The Lego Movie 2 soundtrack with their Beck and Robyn collab, Why Not Me, while they released their last film Popstar: Never Stop Not Stopping in 2016.

The group are best known for their comedy tracks I’m On A Boat, I Just Had Sex and Jack Sparrow, while Andy Samberg currently stars on the hit show Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

Courteney Cox was in very good company at Snow Patrol’s gig in Los Angeles earlier this week, with the TV star joined by none other than Woody Harrelson and James Marsden at the show.

The Friends actress was on-hand to support her boyfriend Johnny McDaid and his bandmates as they brought their Wildness Tour to LA’s The Wiltern on Tuesday night.

And of course with VIP tickets, Courteney was bound to bump into her fellow Hollywood a-listers.

Clearly bonding well at the show, the gang posed for a photo with Woody, 57, James, 45, and actress Mary McCormack all huddled around Courteney.

The actress sweetly captioned the image: ‘Great night with these lovable misfits at @snowpatrol concert. #snowpatrol#wildness [sic].’

Snow Patrol’s tour, in support of their latest album Wildness, will next see them head over to Europe for a busy summer of shows.

The band will next play in Bangor, Northern Ireland on Friday before moving onto Belgium, Denmark and Germany. The Chasing Cars singers are then set to play several dates around England before embarking on their Australia and Asia trek.

Johnny got a little emotional with their North American tour coming to an end, as the musician said in an Instagram post: ‘Thank you so much San Francisco. Incredible atmosphere last night. Always great to be in the Bay Area. I remember our first show in SF in 2004 at Slim’s.

‘I think there was maybe 100 people there. Thank you all for packing out @thewarfield last night. It meant the world to us.’

His bandmate Gary Lightbody added: ‘Can’t believe it’s almost over. I’m very happy for the people who could go the shows.

‘And I’m very happy and proud for you guys have made a successful tour. This weekend we have Ward Park 3. I won’t be there but I’m really looking foward to keep up with everything about the show.’

Courteney, 54, and Johnny, 42, have dated since 2013 and were engaged at one point before calling it off. They briefly split but reconciled in 2016 and have been going strong ever since.

The TV star recently revealed how Johnny put his musical talents to good use by writing a song for her.

During an appearance on Busy Tonight, Courteney said: ‘He wrote one called – I’m sorry guys – I Love the Way You Everything.

‘I don’t think he feels that way anymore but it was nice. He did write this really beautiful song, and it’s called that and it will probably be recorded at some point by somebody.’

Wendy Williams’ son was reportedly arrested after getting into a physical altercation with his father and her estranged husband Kevin Hunter.

The incident is said to have taken place in the early hours of Thursday morning when Kevin, who is in the process of divorcing Wendy, got into an argument with their 18-year-old son near the family home in Livingstone, New Jersey.

According to TMZ, Wendy dropped Kevin Jr off at the house but both were unaware that Kevin, 47, was already home.

Relations were amicable between Kevin Sr and Jr as they spent time together at home before making their way to a nearby store shortly after midnight.

In the car park, they reportedly got into an argument over Kevin’s request for spousal support from Wendy in their divorce. He is also alleged to have accused Wendy of ‘brainwashing’ their son.

Kevin allegedly put his son in a headlock prompting Kevin Jr to punch him in the nose.

Police told TMZ that Kevin Jr was arrested for assault but Kevin Sr is not interested in taking legal action against him.

Breaking his silence on the incident, Kevin Sr told the publication: ‘I love my son very much and I will not be pursuing this matter legally. Things are not always how they appear.’

Wendy, 54, filed for divorce from Kevin in April after more than 21 years of marriage.

It came just weeks after Kevin allegedly welcomed a baby girl with his reported mistress Sharina Hudson. Not long before the reports surfaced, Wendy revealed she had moved out of the marital home and was living in a sober house to overcome her alcohol addiction.

The daytime talk show host has now left the sober home and moved into her own apartment, while Kevin Jr is studying away at college.

In a surprising move, Wendy opened up about her divorce during a recent episode of The Wendy Williams Show and said: ‘It’s hard to say, “give privacy” because I don’t give privacy when I’m doing the rest of the stories, so you do what you want,’ adding that she’s coping with the divorce ‘pleasantly’.

The TV personality also revealed that she’s dating again, telling her audience: ‘You don’t just throw away 25 years lock stock and barrel. I am a single woman running around New York. I go out a lot because I’m a good-time girl, I like to have fun.

‘I don’t have a boyfriend. But I must admit, I am rediscovering my love of men.’

Why has the UK’s Michael Rice had his Eurovision score lowered?

Michael Rice’s final score in the Eurovision final is now lower than it was (Picture: Reuters)

Anybody who tuned in to the Eurovision Song Contest final on Saturday night will be aware that the UK’s Michael Rice ended up bottom of the heap with his song Bigger Than Us.

The track scored just 16 points on Saturday night in combined votes from both juries and public, as Duncan Laurence handed the Netherlands their first contest victory since 1975 with his song Arcade.

However it now appears that Michael finished an even more resounding last – scoring just 11 points – one of a number of scores which were altered following a voting error which has now been resolved.

So just what happened to those elusive five points? Here’s what you need to know…

Why has Michael Rice had his Eurovision score lowered?

Michael lost five points in the wake of an error in the scoring which occurred following the dismissal of the Belarussian jury.

That country’s panel – who along with juries from other countries supply 50 per cent of the voting in the contest – were dismissed after revealing their votes from the semi-final before the final had taken place.

This breaks the rules of the contest as the results of the semi-final are not revealed until after the final is over – with only the 10 qualifying countries known and announced in a random order during the two semi-finals.

As a result of this, the EBU worked with voting partner digame to create an aggregated result for the absent Belarus jury – but in doing so a mistake was made.

They explained it all in a statement.

‘The EBU can confirm, following standard review practices, we have discovered that due to a human error an incorrect aggregated result was used,’ they said.

‘This had no impact on the calculation of points derived from televoting across the 41 participating countries and the overall winner and Top 4 songs of the Contest remain unchanged.

Duncan Laurence wins the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest for the Netherlands
The Netherlands’ Duncan Laurence still won the contest in spite of the error (Picture: Getty Images)

‘To respect both the artists and EBU Members which took part, we wish to correct the final results in accordance with the rules. The correct jury points have now been added to the scoreboard and the revised totals for each participating broadcaster, and their country, have been published on eurovision.tv.

‘The EBU and its partners digame and Ernst & Young deeply regret that this error was not identified earlier and will review the processes and controls in place to prevent this from happening again.’

Who did Belarus give points to?

The aggregated score given on the night saw the UK receive five points from Belarus – however the corrected score sees the UK receive no points at all from them, thus knocking our score down to 11.

We weren’t the only ones to miss out though, as Israel’s Kobi Marimi, who received his only 12 of the night from the aggregated Belarussian vote, also lost out, with Malta’s Michela receiving top marks instead.

How has it changed the scoreboard?

Tamara Todevska of North Macedonia performing at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest grand final
Tamara Todevska from North Macedonia actually won the jury vote (Picture: AP)

It has of course ended in further woe for the UK who are now even further adrift in the bottom spot than before, with 25th placed Germany scoring 24 points.

However it’s made no difference to the end result, with the top four remaining the same – Netherlands winning, Italy’s Mahmood finishing second, Sergey Lazarev from Russia in third and Switzerland’s Luca Hanni in fourth place.

There are a few notable changes beyond that, with Sweden’s John Lundvik actually finishing in fifth place ahead of previously fifth placed Norway, who are now sixth.

North Macedonia’s Tamara Todeska – who actually won the jury vote ahead of Sweden – nudged up to seventh place ahead of Azerbaijan’s Chingiz who has now moved down to eighth.

The new results in full are below.

  • Netherlands (498 points)
  • Italy (472 points)
  • Russia (370 points)
  • Switzerland (364 points)
  • Sweden (334 points)
  • Norway (331 points)
  • North Macedonia (305 points)
  • Azerbaijan (302 points)
  • Australia (284 points)
  • Iceland (232 points)
  • Czech Republic (157 points)
  • Denmark (120 points)
  • Cyprus (109 points)
  • Malta (107 points)
  • Slovenia (105 points)
  • France (105 points)
  • Albania (90 points)
  • Serbia (89 points)
  • San Marino (77 points)
  • Estonia (76 points)
  • Greece (74 points)
  • Spain (54 points)
  • Israel (35 points)
  • Belarus (31 points)
  • Germany (24 points)
  • United Kingdom (11 points)

The 2020 Eurovision Song Contest will take place in the Netherlands. The exact date and host city will be confirmed in due course.

Playdate is a new black & white handheld console with a crank controller

Playdate – the PlayStation 5 won’t be the only new console next year

A new portable console will be released next year with a launch title by the creator of Katamari Damacy – and it’s just as odd as it sounds.

Chris Brown Wobble Up videoChris Brown accused of ripping off artists’ sexual visuals for Wobble Up video

With the 3DS now in its death throes it had seemed like the last days of the dedicated portable console were upon us, but indie publisher Panic begs to differ.

The little-known company, who previously made non-gaming apps for Apple products but recently began publishing indie titles such as Firewatch, features a 2.7-inch black and white screen and… a crank on the side.

The crank isn’t to power the device but instead an optional controller, which launch game Crankin’s Time Travel Adventure makes full use of.

There’s also a D-pad and two buttons, plus other mod cons such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a USB-C slot, and a headphone jack.

The whole thing is only 74x76x9mm in size and is called Playdate. But it’s not just the hardware that’s unusual, as the idea is that rather than just buying random games from a store you sign up for a season of titles that deliver a new one every week for 12 weeks.

To that end, Panic has signed up a number of prominent indie developers, including Keita Takahashi (Katamari Damacy), Zach Gage (Ridiculous Fishing), Bennett Foddy (QWOP), and Shaun Inman (The Last Rocket).

Crankin’s Time Travel Adventure by Keita Takahashi is the only game that’s been unveiled so far and takes the console’s name literally, as it involves helping Crankin’ make it to his date with Crankette.

The crank is the only controller needed and is used to turn time backwards and forwards in order to avoid obstacles. Although given it’s by Takahashi we imagine it’s even odder than that sounds.

The Playdate is due to launch early next year for $149, which comes out at £118. Additional season will be offered if the initial one proves successful.

Dwight is finally set to make his return to the screen in the upcoming fifth season of Fear Of The Walking Dead in a few weeks time and we’re ready.

The villainous character, played by Austin Amelio, was confirmed to still be alive back in December and now showrunners Ian Goldberg and Andrew Chambliss have teased there’s going to be a lot of redemption on the way for him.

Talking to Entertainment Weekly, Goldberg began: ‘We love Dwight. We love Austin Amelio. We’re huge fans of his character and his work on The Walking Dead.

‘When we started to talk about bringing Dwight over, it started in the same place for us emotionally as when we were talking last season about Morgan, and that is: Emotionally, what’s the story we’re telling on a bigger scale this season?’

Goldberg continued to the publication: ‘This season is going to be about our characters grappling with the things they’ve done in their past and looking for redemption through the things they’re doing now, and for anyone who knows Dwight’s story on The Walking Dead, he is someone who did a lot of bad things over his time as a Savior.

‘He hurt a lot of people, he did a lot of things he regrets, but he was given a second chance by Daryl at the end of season 8 when Daryl spared his life and sent him away and told him to find Sherry and to make it right.

‘That’s the last we saw of Dwight on The Walking Dead, and we’re going to see how that’s been going for him and if he’s been able to achieve either of those things that Daryl told him to do.’

Fear The Walking Dead season 5 return date revealed Picture: AMC

Austin confirmed his return just a few months back getting audiences hyped.

‘He’s not dead,’ he told fans at Walker Stalker Con. ‘That’s all I can say. He’s alive. He’s alive in the world somewhere.’

The star added: ‘There’s so many different ways you can go with him.

‘There’s the comic book, there’s Sherry’s story, there’s me being with the Alexandrians. I have no idea.’

Fear The Walking Dead returns Sunday 2 June on AMC.

Rihanna launched her Fenty clothing line in style last night, unveiling her collection with a swanky pop-up shop in Paris.

And the 31-year-old celebrated her big day in style at a cocktail party, alongside a string of her famous pals.

The Diamonds singer rocked up to her shop in an oversized white blazer and gold heels as she rubbed shoulders with the most fashionable people in the industry.

Side note: How does she manage to make oversized blazers look cute while we just end up looking like Grandpa Joe from Charlie and The Chocolate Factory?

She was joined by creative director of Balmain, Olivier Rousteing, as well as British Vogue editor Enninful, for the launch of her first collection since joining forces with LVMH.

Riri later toasted her success with another party, switching up her look slightly for a white t-shirt-style mini-dress, with a bomber jacket on top.

Her party in Paris comes after she announced she had teamed up with LVMH to launch her own brand of clothes, shoes, jewellery and accessories.

Honestly, we are so ready for all of it.

She confirmed the news on Instagram, telling fans: ‘Big day for the culture. thank you Mr.Arnault for believing in this little girl from the left side of an island, and for giving me the opportunity to grow with you at.

‘This is proof that nothing is impossible. Glory be to God.’

On top of all this, she has blown fans’ minds by revealing she is officially a Londoner, after secretly moving to the UK earlier this year.

So that’s why she had a Sainsbury’s bag for life, and gave Boots a massive shout-out with Fenty Beauty…

In a chat with the New York Times, she explained she made the move to be closer to her Fenty team – who are based in Paris and Italy.

And it also helps that her boyfriend, Hassan Jameel, is located in London too.

But, while she does like ‘walking around the block’ when she’s here, chances are we won’t be bumping into her as she likes to keep things ‘incognito’.

Michael Barrymore feels ‘raw anger because people still don’t believe he’s innocent’, claims Piers Morgan.

The TV star, best known for hosting shows including Strike It Rich and My Kind Of Music, was arrested and detained in June 2007 on suspicion of the rape and murder of 31-year-old Stuart Lubbock, who was found in the swimming pool at the star’s home in Roydon, Essex, in 2001.

However, after questioning, Barrymore was released without charge, and later he took action against the Essex Police, accusing them of wrongful arrest.

A high court judge found in August 2017 that the arrest was unlawful because the arresting officer did not have reasonable grounds to suspect Mr Barrymore.

Twelve years after his arrest, the 67-year-old will discuss the death of Lubbock and his subsequent arrest on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, with Morgan claiming the episode will be ‘the most powerful show we’ve ever aired’.

The Good Morning Britain presenter told the Daily Star: ‘[Michael] had everything and then lost it all.

‘He lost his marriage and career, and nearly lost his livelihood, but ultimately was never convicted in relation to any of the events people know him for.

‘He feels raw anger that he’s not been allowed to rebuild his career, because people don’t want to accept that he was an innocent man.’

Michael’s last television appearance was on The Jeremy Kyle Show back in 2014, where he talked in depth about his life in show business, marriage and sexuality, and admitted to viewers that he had been ‘clean’ for three years without alcohol or other drugs.

Last December, the Celebrity Big Brother star lost an appeal launched by police over the amount of damages he is set to receive for wrongful arrest.

Barrymore had valued his claim against Essex Police at more than £2.4 million in relation to his wrongful arrest on suspicion of the rape and murder of Stuart Lubbock, which Barrymore claims destroyed his career.

However, three judges today found that the entertainer was ‘entitled to nominal damages only’.

Essex Police argued that if Barrymore were entitled to substantial damage, it would have wide-reaching implications for the police service and other organisations facing similar claims, particularly from wealthy or famous individuals.

Piers Morgan’s Life Stories will air later this year on ITV.

HBO’s Chernobyl has officially overtaken Sir David Attenborough’s Planet Earth II as greatest television series of all time

Some thought it would never happen but Sir David Attenborough is no longer the best thing that happened to television. That accolade now goes to HBO’s Chernobyl.

The five-part thriller follows the horrific real life catastrophe, which saw a nuclear power plant’s reactor core explode in 1986, causing one of the most disastrous man made tragedies of all time.

Chernobyl launched on Sky Atlantic earlier this month and after just three episodes has managed to leap over BBC’s Planet Earth II, Band of Brothers, Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones as the most loved show in the history of TV.

The series has already achieved a 9.5 stars out of 10 rating on IMDB, topping the list otherwise dominated by David Attenborough’s wildlife spectacles.

Chernobyl follows Jared Harris as real life Soviet chemist Valery Legasov, climbing an uphill battle to convince the USSR of the long-lasting repercussions from the nuclear blast, warning millions of lives were at risk as deadly chemicals drifted through neighbouring cities.

The synopsis reads: ‘On April 26, 1986, the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine, Soviet Union suffered a massive explosion that released radioactive material across Belarus, Russia and Ukraine and as far as Scandinavia and western Europe.

‘Chernobyl dramatizes the story of the 1986 accident, one of the worst man-made catastrophes in history, and the sacrifices made to save Europe from the unimaginable disaster.’

The death toll from the 1986 blast is still contested all these years later. The immediate explosion killed two people, with 29 deaths from acute radiation sickness in the three months following, but scientists have placed future radiation-related deaths in the thousands.

An exact figure is difficult to gauge, but research on the subject falls between 4,000 from United Nations agencies and 90,000 as claimed by Greenpeace International.

Chernobyl airs Tuesdays on Sky Atlantic and is available to stream on NOW TV.

Chris Brown accused of ripping off artists’ sexual visuals for Wobble Up video

Chris Brown has been accused of stealing concepts for his latest video, Wobble Up.

Artist Marius Sperlich claimed the 30-year-old ripped off his designs for the clip – which also features Nicki Minaj, G-Eazy and a cameo from Tyga.

In a post on his Instagram page, he shared original concepts he designed last year with his 396k followers, including a temperature dial on a breast, and a bum in the water with a palm tree sticking out.

He also added a side-by-side from the Run It singer’s video – released earlier this month – showing similar visuals.

In a lengthy post on his Instagram story, he begged fans to ‘lend their support’ and make a difference for artists everywhere.

‘Today Wobble Up, a new music video, was released and my content was copied without credit,’ he said. ‘Spread the word. Tag, comment, report and help get press on this. Let’s give credit where credit is due!

‘With no credit there are no creatives. Band together to bring awareness to ALL of the artists.’

Marius claims the visuals are similar to his artwork (Picture: YouTube)

‘I received many messages that two of my concepts were replicated in @ChrisBrownofficial new music video Wobble Up feat. @NickiMinaj and @g_eazy,’ he continued.

‘Intellectual property has to be protected at any cost! Now that the internet and social media proliferate content instantly. We need to make sure that the creative source is present from first launch. This unfortunately happens [often] in the creative industry.

‘Nowadays it’s very easy to copy things. For many the internet is just an open source of concepts, ideas and free content. Nobody cares about creation, originals and credit anymore. Especially if you are a young artist…

‘Most can’t afford a lawyer for a lawsuit. So most of them remain silent – we won’t stay silent.

‘Thanks for your help.’

Marius also alleged his wasn’t the only work to be ‘used without credit’ in the clip – tagging fellow artists Tony Futura and Vanessa McKeown.

Tony later shared his own artwork, showing two lemons with a nipple ring in one, and a screenshot from a similar scene in the video, while echoing Marius’ words.

Chris has yet to comment on the claims publicly.

His video for Wobble Up, with Nicki and G-Eazy, was released on 20 May, and has been viewed more than 7.7million times so far.

Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for Chris for a comment.

Christopher Nolan is back in the director’s chair as filming for his anticipated new blockbuster, Tenet, is underway.

The 48-year-old director, best known for epics like Dunkirk and Batman, has gathered his cast, including Robert Pattinson and John Washington, to start shooting the espionage action thriller.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Warner Bros. has described Tenet as an ‘action epic evolving from the world of international espionage’.

It will be shot in seven countries using state-of-the-art IMAX and 70mm film so you can expect the movie to quite literally blow you away next summer when it hits cinema screens.

Ludwig Goransson has been tapped to produce the score following his critically-acclaimed work on Marvel’s Black Panther, Creed 2 and Avengers: Infinity War.

While Robert, 33, and John David, 34, were previously announced, the likes of Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Michael Caine and Kenneth Branagh have joined the cast.

It will be John David’s first lead role in a blockbuster movie following his widely-applauded role in Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman, which earned him a Golden Globe nomination in February.

Although the project has been mostly shrouded in secrecy, R-Patz has hyped it up a great deal.

The Twilight actor said Tenet could be Christopher’s longest movie yet, claiming it will span the length of three films while adding ‘it’s the craziest thing I’ve seen in years’.

Robert also revealed that Christopher has understandably gone to great lengths to prevent any spoiler leaks and forced the British actor to read the script in a locked room.

Speaking to USA Today back in April, Robert said: ‘I got locked in a room to read the script – I don’t have it myself.’

He then teased: ‘I read the script and it’s unreal.’

Sounds like we’re in for a treat.

Tenet is scheduled for release on 17 July 2020.

Dr Hilary Jones celebrated gracing our television screens for 30 years with an epic throwback on breakfast television today.

The 65-year-old doc, who’s made frequent appearances on shows such as Lorraine and This Morning to help us out with all of our health problems and keeping us informed on checking for symptoms, shared a clip of himself from his broadcasting debut.

He looked like quite the heartbreaker in the incredible shot too as he sat down to speak with Lorraine Kelly in a dapper suit.

Recalling his first ever appearance on the box, Hilary told viewers: ‘ [It was an item on] blood pressure.

‘And very soon after that I was sitting next to Dudley Moore and one of my twins was sick on his lap. He was lovely about it.’

He then spent some time reflecting on the legacy of his career on breakfast television, beginning: ‘I think the public health messages, that’s what this programme does well.

‘We have had people say that they have found a breast lump or they have sent their husband to get his prostate tested and it’s saved his life.

‘It’s really nice to hear those heartwarming stories and of course it’s been a lot of fun as well…doing the flying doctors service in Australia.

‘Delivering a baby just out of the blue in Haiti where we had gone to cover the earthquake…’

Dr Hilary was joined by a number of people he’d helped over the years on Lorraine, with the host asking whether he’d be able to stick around for another 30 years.

‘I’d love to,’ he responded. ‘There’s still a job to be done.’

Burt Reynolds died after rehearsing lines for his final movie role, Quentin Tarontino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

The 82-year-old actor passed away in September 2018 before shooting any scenes for the film, in which he was set to appear as a blind ranch owner but the movie’s director, Quentin Tarantino, claims one of the final things the screen legend did before suffering a heart attack was go through his script with his assistant.

‘I found out from three different people that the last thing he did just before he died was run lines with his assistant. Then he went to the bathroom, and that’s when he had his heart attack,’ Tarantino said.

Speaking to Esquire magazine, Brad Pitt also revealed how he spent two of the ‘greatest moments’ of his career on set with the Oscar-nominated actor.

‘I’ll tell you one of the greatest moments I’ve had in these however many years we’ve been at it in this town: getting to spend two days with Burt Reynolds on this film,’ he said.

‘You’ve gotta understand, for me, growing up in the Ozarks and watching Smokey And The Bandit, you know, he was the guy. Virile. Always had something sharp to say – funny as s**t. A great dresser. Oh, man.

‘And I had never met him, so being there with him reminded me of how much I enjoyed him as a kid. And then getting to spend those days with him in rehearsal, I was really touched by him.’

Reynolds was best known for his roles in The Longest Yard and Boogie Nights – for which he was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Oscar.

He won the Golden Globe for his role as Jack Horner in the 1997 film, as well as numerous critics awards.

He was also an accomplished star on the small screen, appearing in TV shows including Gunsmoke, Dan August and Evening Shade.

The legendary actor died of a heart attack in a hospital in Florida in September 2018.

His family were by his side when he passed away; the actor is survived by his son Quinton.

Even K-pop superstars, with their on point choreography and schedules down to a tee, can suffer some on-stage faux pas.

And at BLACKPINK’s London concert, a pesky lift was to blame.

Jennie apologised to the BLINKs at the band’s Wembley SSE Arena gig after she got stuck beneath a malfunctioning lift, forcing her to delay her performance of Solo.

Each member of BLACKPINK got their moment to shine in a solo performance, with Rose singing The Beatles’ Let It Be and Lisa showcasing her dance skills with a routine to Jason Derulo’s Swalla.

However, something seemed to be wrong when Jisoo came down the walkway during her performance of Zedd’s Clarity, as when she moved to meet her dancers, a large section of the floor was missing.

This part of the floor featured a lift which moved dancers and BLACKPINK up and down – but it seemed to have stopped working, with somebody passing Jisoo a mic stand from below the stage.

And this meant that Jennie, who was below the stage, couldn’t get up in time to perform, leaving a gap in between performances as she ran to the back of the stage to use the stage.

She told the crowd: ‘Sorry about the [malfunction] with the lift and the little pause that we had. I was stuck under the lift, I was like “I need to come up!” I managed to use the stairs.’

However, the BLINKs did not care, and cheered on the girls as they showcased all their hits at their first ever London concert.

Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo and Rose unleashed hits including Ddu-du Ddu-du, Kill This Love, Really, Whistle and their Dua Lipa collaboration Kiss And Make Up on the SSE Arena, while their devoted fanbase waved their heart-shaped mallet lightsticks in the air.

The group had previously played Manchester Arena, where they paid tribute to the victims of the bombing of Ariana Grande’s concert two years ago with a sweet message and by changing some of their choreography to be more sensitive.

The Chase viewers react accordingly as languages teacher gets language question wrong

The Chase is known to stump even the best of us – but a languages teacher on last night’s episode is definitely going to live to regret this slip up.

Natalie, a 32-year-old modern languages teacher from Kent, appeared on the show in an effort to try and win some cash for her and her teammates.

Teaching in an unnamed school in south-east London, Natalie proudly declared that she teaches French and Spanish to kids.

So viewers obviously loved the moment that she made the gaffe of getting an English question wrong.

Heading into the head-to-head Chase with Governess Anne Hegerty following a stellar cashbuilder of £5000, her nerves clearly got the better of her during one of the questions.

The final question before she could secure her money for her team, she was asked by host Bradley Walsh: ‘Which of these is a part of speech in the English language?’

Having to choose between conjunction, interdiction, and proposition, Natalie chose option three – and then looked horrified as she admitted she should’ve actually chosen conjunction.

But too little, too late, and viewers couldn’t help but think of the irony considering her line of work.

Natalie shouldn’t be too hard on herself though, considering even the celebrities get in a panic in the face of the iconic Chasers.

In fact, in an episode coming up in November, Piers Morgan has admitted filming the celebrity special caused him to make the biggest slip up of his career.

He later told Anne on Good Morning Britain: ‘We went in all cocksure because we won Pointless Celebrities, we both think we’re little brainboxes.’

‘Susanna, I think it would be fair to say without giving too much away, her reputation remains somewhat intact from the experience,’ he added.

‘Mine was shattered in a moment of brainfreeze.’

The Chase airs weekdays from 5pm on ITV.
