Liam Hemsworth may be self-isolating right now, but he’s definitely doing it in style.

The Hunger Games actor is holed up with his model girlfriend Gabriella Brooks in a stunning beach pad in Phillip Island in Victoria, Australia.

Alright for some!

The 30-year-old snapped up the property in 2013 for £820,000 (1.6million AUD).

And it’s alright really, nothing to write home about. Just, you know, six acres of idyllic ocean-front land and views to make you weep.

Nestled in greenery, the beachfront bunker boasts a terrace to drink in that ocean view, an open plan kitchen and living room and a massive garden.

There could be worse places to be quarantined.

Property tycoon that he is, Liam also has a £5.3million home in Malibu – which was ravaged in wildfires in 2018.

Phillip Island, a small island south-east of Melbourne, is where Liam grew up with his brothers Chris and Luke.

Liam’s been staying at the luxurious digs with Sydney-born Gabriella, 23, with the two of them going for regular surfing trips to break up the monotony of being really, really ridiculously good-looking indoors.

The couple were first spotted together in December, having lunch with Liam’s parents Craig and Leonie in Byron Bay, where Chris owns a £20million mega-mansion.

They hooked up after Liam split from Miley Cyrus following eight months of marriage and 10 years of dating.

Liam moved back to Australia after things went bust, seeking solace at his brother Chris’ pad in Byron Bay for a while before relocating Down Under permanently.

And it seems the Hemsworth’s are more than happy to have Liam back, with Chris celebrating getting his little bro ‘out of Malibu’.

Discussing how Liam is living a healthier life since moving back to Australia after the divorce, Chris told News.com.au: ‘Did you see the Men’s Health cover? I thought, “Not bad kid. Not bad.”

‘He’s out there training and staying fit, and back in Australia doing his thing.

‘It’s Australian living, I guess. We got him out of Malibu!’

Captain Tom Moore has duetted with Michael Ball in a bid to raise even more money for NHS amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Not content with racking up more than £18million in donations to healthcare staff, the 99-year-old has now teamed up with the Love Changes Everything star to release their cover of You’ll Never Walk Alone.

And we are absolutely not worthy.

Taking to Twitter, Michael shared: ‘Did you catch Captain Tom Moore and I on @bbcradio2 @zoetheball Show this morning?

‘I am so delighted and incredibly thrilled that our version of You’ll Never Walk Alone will be released later today, with all profits being donated to Captain Tom’s 100th birthday walk fund in aid of the @nhswebsite.

‘Also a huge thank you to the amazing NHS Voices of Care Choir for joining us on the single.’

Michael and Tom performed the song via videolink on BBC Breakfast on Thursday, leaving many viewers in tears.

Flocking to Twitter to praise the pair, one posted: ‘I can’t stop flipping crying now!

‘@captaintommoore singing along with Michael Ball #YoullNeverWalkAlone #TomorrowWillBeAGoodDay.

‘We can get through this folks because it will end & there are better days ahead.’

‘Michael Ball singing You’ll Never Walk Alone to Captain Tom was genuinely moving,’ a fan said.

‘If you told me 8 weeks ago that I’d be absolutely weeping at Michael Ball singing You’ll Never Walk Alone to @captaintommoore pre 9am live on BBC I would have thought you were insane…and yet here I am.’

Honestly, same.

Tom gained fans from all over the world when he walked 100 laps of his garden before his 100th birthday, in a bid to raise money for NHS workers amid the Covid-19 outbreak.

The World War Two veteran initially set himself a target of £1,000 – but this quickly grew, with donations currently at nearly £20million.

He has pledged to keep on walking until donations stop coming in.

People have now started a petition for Tom to be knighted following his impressive efforts – which has amassed more than 400,000 signatures.

Julianne Hough quarantines states apart from husband Brooks Laich

While couples around the world are spending 24/7 with one another amid the coronavirus lockdown, Julianne Hough is quarantining apart from husband Brooks Laich.

In fact, the pair are in separate states, as dancer and actress Julianne remained in their LA home and Brooks took their husky and went into nature in Idaho, nearly 900miles away.

Hey, each to their own.

Julianne has been busy sharing photos to Instagram – albeit, she hasn’t posted something with Brooks since last year – and she also performed on the Disney Family Singalong alongside brother Derek Hough last night.

Husband Brooks has also been sharing quite a lot of picturesque views from Idaho, with his dog Koda loving the snow.

While it comes after reports the couple – who married near Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, in 2017– were ‘going through a rough patch’ earlier this year, sources have insisted the pair are still very much together.

‘They are still together, but just not quarantined in the same place. Their relationship has always been like this, though — they like to do their own thing,’ a source told People this week.

According to said source, Brooks is ‘living the simple life in nature, which makes him happy’.

Entertainment Tonight also reported the married couple simply ‘prefer different scenery’.

A source told the publication: ‘They talk often but this is a very hard time. They’ve been working on their marriage and being apart is not easy.’

Amid their separate quarantines, Julianne was photographed going for a walk with long-time friend Ben Barnes, with the UK actor clearly keeping Julianne company in LA.

In photos obtained by Daily Mail this week, the Grease: Live dancer and the Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian actor were seen strolling the streets in Los Angeles amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Still, Julianne is clearly loving the snaps her husband has been posting to social media after she commented on a rather brill photo of their beloved Koda – and he’s been busy in her comments as well.

On the snap of the dog staring down the camera, she wrote: ‘That little tongue pokin out,’ as Brooks replied with a laughing emoji.

Earlier this year it was claimed the pair were working on their marriage, while Brooks said he was keen to ‘explore’ his sexuality more in 2020 – after Julianne said herself she was ‘not straight’.

Julianne previously shared that she and her husband turned to a sex therapist to discover their ‘erotic blueprint’ and help them connect more.

She said on Brooks’ podcast: ‘A lot of people don’t know even what they want. My curiosity has saved my life and honestly saved our relationship many times because we’ve been curious about like, “Hey, something doesn’t feel right. Instead of just accepting it for how it is, let’s look into something”.’

Speaking about the compatibility test they underwent, the dancer continued: ‘When I took the test, I realised that there were certain things that gave me connection and intimacy that were different than what gave Brooks connection and intimacy.

‘By almost learning each other’s language — sort of like love languages — it was almost like a menu of how we could please each other sexually, but also intimately.’

This Morning viewers baffled after SAS: Who Dares Wins stars Jason Fox and Ollie Ollerton self-isolate together

This Morning viewers were a little confused on Friday’s show after they questioned why SAS: Who Dares Wins stars Ollie Ollerton and Jason Fox were self-isolating together.

The duo appeared via video link on Friday morning where they spoke to Eamonn Holme and Ruth Langsford about the new series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

They were also joined by contestant Anthea Turner who is among the star-studded line-up this year.

And it wasn’t long before Ruth quizzed them on why they were self-isolating together.

‘Can I just ask because obviously we are social distancing at the moment, Eamonn and I don’t have to because we are in the same household and you are in the same house hold, why?’ she began.

‘We had been travelling before the lockdown happened and as we were coming back into the UK just prior to it, we have business interests together so we figured, we preempted it so I came up to Ollie’s in the Shropshire Hills,’ Jason responded.

‘We have been living in the same house for four weeks, just over.’

Ollie added: ‘I think we thought it was going to be a few days but it’s turned into four to five weeks.’

Viewers quickly took to social media to comment on it, despite the pair explaining they chose to live together during the lockdown.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.

Gamescom 2020 cancelled, replaced with digital event, now closest thing to E3

Gamescom 2019
No E3 this year means this is the closest we’re getting to a summer-based gaming event (pic: Getty Images)

With E3 not happening this year the only alternative is Gamescom, which will now be a digital-only event.

E3’s cancellation this year sent massive ripples throughout the gaming industry and community and with its supposed online replacement cancelled too, the summertime is looking very dry in terms of gaming events.

In the wake of this, many found themselves looking towards Gamescom to act as a pseudo E3, even though most of the intended E3 announcements will likely be revealed by the publishers on their own terms.

Even if it ends up lacking any major, ground-breaking reveals, Gamescom is, at the very least, still running this year, though not physically, as Germany (where it’s held) has banned public gatherings until the end of August in response to the coronavirus.

The official Twitter account has confirmed that staff are already hard at work on setting up a digital event, as well as stating that all ticket purchases will be refunded.

There’s no confirmed date, so it’s unknown if it will run during the original intended time frame of 25 – 29 August, but Gamescom: Opening Night Live will be held on Monday 24 August as a digital event as well.

Geoff Keighley, who hosted the first event last year, will be returning to host. Given it will be one of the only non-partisan gaming events all year it’s likely that it will be used to announce several new games and will probably end up more like The Game Awards – just without the awards bit.

Gamescom may not get as much notoriety as E3, but it is technically the biggest gaming event in the world in terms of size, boasting the tagline of ‘the heart of gaming,’ and has still hosted many big and popular titles, either revealing new info or having playable demos for the public to try out for the first time.

A lot of the main publishers like Microsoft and Nintendo have some sort of presence there too, so we can hopefully expect to see new details, footage or hands-on impressions of any titles they might announce beforehand (assuming they do).

Sony stopped hosting press events at Gamescom several years ago but it still always has a consumer stand and it did unveil new Death Stranding footage last year.

Brian Dennehy: From truck driver to Tony Award-winner

American actor Brian Dennehy has passed away at the age of 81, from causes not related to coronavirus, in his Connecticut home in the United States.

His agent, who also told the AFP news agency that Dennehy’s wife was by his side when he died on Wednesday April 15, confirmed the star’s death last night.

Dennehy was an award-winning actor on both stage and screen whose career spanned more than four decades.

Brian Dennehy’s movies and career

Dennehy was born on July 9 1938 in Bridgeport, Connecticut and despite taking up acting at the age of 14, he didn’t score his first professional acting role until 1977, when he was cast in a TV series called Kojak.

This was quickly followed the same year by a number of roles in other TV series and TV movies before the hopeful actor landed his break in the film Semi-Tough, opposite Burt Reynolds and Kris Kristofferson.

Although the role wasn’t huge and only paid him $1,000, it was enough for Dennehy at the time who told the New York Times in 1989: ‘I had a very simple goal: to make enough money to put my kids through college, through good colleges.’

Prior to landing his first professional acting roles on TV and on the big screen, Dennehy had completed five years of service in the US Marines before taking work as a truck driver and bartender to fund his ambition of making it as an actor.

‘I learned firsthand how a truck driver lives, what a bartender does, how a salesman thinks. I had to make a life inside those jobs, not just pretend,’ he said to the New York Times.

After starring in Semi-Tough in 1977, Dennehy’s career began to go from strength to strength.

Several more roles in TV movies and series’ followed, including a part in the legendary TV shows Dallas in 1978 and Dynasty in 1981.

Dennehy appeared in some of his most iconic roles in the 1980s, with movies such as First Blood (1982) with Sylvester Stallone, Silverado (1985), Cocoon (1985) and F/X (1986), all propelling him into fame and fortune.

Paying tribute to Dennehy after his death this week, Stallone, 73, took to Instagram to say: ‘The great actor Brian Dennehy has passed away. He simply was A brilliant performer.

‘He also was a Vietnam vet that helped me very much building the character of RAMBO.

‘The world has lost a great artist.’

Over the course of his career, Dennehy would receive six Emmy nominations for his performances on TV, the first of which came in 1991 after his appearance in TV Movie To Catch A Killer.

In 2000, a television adaptation of Death Of A Salesman that the actor starred in won him a Golden Globe award.

Dennehy also won two Tony Awards for his performances on stage in Death Of A Salesman (1999) and Long Day’s Journey Into Night (2003).

‘The great thing about doing this play and what’s happened to me in the last six months is that I’ve found something that was lost: a sense of who I am, and what I’m about, and why I got into this 30 years ago,’ Dennehy said in an interview with Columbia College Today in 1999 about Death of a Salesman.

‘Why I drove a cab, why I drove a truck, why I worked so hard to get into this profession. It’s very easy to lose it along the way, and I didn’t realize how much I needed it until I got it back.’

Noteable roles taken on by the actor later in his 43-year career include voicing Django in Ratatouille in 2007 and roles in TV series including Public Morals, Hap and Leonard and, most recently, The Blacklist in 2019.

Brian Dennehy’s wife and children

Dennehy was married twice and had five children.

One of his daughters, Elizabeth Dennehy, went on to follow in her father’s footsteps, becoming an actress known for her roles in Seinfeld as well as Hancock (2008), Red Dragon (2002) and The Game (1997).

Dennehy is also survived by his other four children: Kathleen Dennehy, Cormack Dennehy, Deirdre Dennehy and Sarah Dennehy.

The actor married his first wife, Judith Scheff, in 1959 and they had three children together, including Elizabeth. The couple were married until 1974.

Dennehy went on to marry his second wife, Jennifer Arnott, in 1988 and the two have been together ever since. They had two children together, Cormack and Sarah.

Christine Baranski and The Good Fight cast reunite amid coronavirus shutdown – without Game of Thrones’ Rose Leslie

The Good Fight cast reunited amid coronavirus lockdown, lead by Christine Baranski, but one former castmember was missing in the form of Game of Thrones star Rose Leslie.

The show functions as a spin-off of political drama The Good Wife, and follows lawyer Diane Lockhart (Baranski) who starts work at a Chicago law firm after losing her life savings in a financial scam.

Ygritte actress Rose played Lockhart’s goddaughter Maia Rindell in the drama, but left the show after three seasons as a regular cast member.

The Good Fight, like most other TV shows, announced last month that its production would be shutting down due to the growing nature of the coronavirus pandemic.

But that didn’t stop the rest of the cast – including Beauty and the Beast star Audra McDonald, alongside writers and creators Robert and Michelle King – reuniting over (where else!) video conference site Zoom.

Truly, all our lives are now run by Zoom.

Via the conference, fans of the show were made aware that despite the shutdown, work was still continuing on the fourth season, which is scheduled to drop its third episode on 30 April.

CBS All Access 196K subscribers Watch a special message from the creators/EPs, crew and stars of The Good Fight, including Christine Baranski, Audra McDonald, and more, on why the series is taking a short, week-long break next week between episodes 2 and 3. On April 30, continue to stream all-new episodes of The Good Fight on Thursdays, exclusively on CBS All Access.
The cast had a good old singalong to Johnny Cash

And of course, in these trying times, things ended in a song, as Mamma Mia icon Christina led the cast and crew in a rendition of Johnny Cash’s classic You Are My Sunshine.

We kind of wish they had burst into a rendition of ABBA, but we’re fine.

Luther actress Rose left The Good Fight at the conclusion of its third season in 2019, where her character was written out as she moved to Washington DC to start her own law firm.

Her exit came one year after her highly-publicised wedding to Game of Thrones co-star Kit Harington, with The Good Fight being her last TV credit to date.

The 33-year-old has also starred alongside Idris Elba in the BBC detective series Luther for one season in 2015 and will next be seen in Sir Kenneth Branagh’s second Poirot film, Death on the Nile, alongside Gal Gadot.

Metro.co.uk has reached out to Rose Leslie for comment.

The Good Fight airs on CBS All Access in the US.

Grandmother breaks down on This Morning as she struggles in lockdown: ‘I can’t do this anymore’

A grandmother who called in for help on This Morning struggled to hold back the tears as she admitted she wasn’t coping very well during lockdown.

Speaking with agony aunt Deirdre Sanders and hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, caller Michelle explained that she had been self-isolating for 12 weeks and that she was finding it rather difficult.

During the heartbreaking phone call, Michelle spoke through tears as she began: ‘I am finding it really hard as I am always with my family.

‘I have recently had to move out of my comfy house I had of 35 years due to a divorce and now I am in a little flat, I never really liked it but if I could get out I was alright.’

Michelle went on to explain she is struggling with not seeing her grandchildren every day as she admitted she doesn’t like her ‘own company’.

‘One of them was staying over because my daughter had a new job and I was picking him up from school, having him stay a bit overnight at least two or three nights a week,’ she continued.

‘It has been really hard not seeing him and I don’t like my own company and I have recently been hearing that people like me will have to stay in until they find a vaccine which is over year and I can’t do that.’

It follows after Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab confirmed the UK would be in lockdown for at least another three weeks.

The senior minister, who is deputising for Prime Minister Boris Johnson as he recovers from Covid-19, said the decision was made following advice from the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE).

Speaking at Thursday’s Downing Street press briefing, Mr Raab said: ‘Our action plan aims to slow the spread of coronavirus so fewer people need hospital treatment at any one time and that’s the way we can protect the NHS from becoming overwhelmed.

‘At every step along this way we’ve followed very carefully the scientific and medical advice we’ve received so we take the right steps at the right moment in time.

‘There are indications that the measures we’ve put in place have been successful in slowing down the spread of this virus.

‘The government has decided that the current measures must remain in place for at least the next three weeks.’

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.

Fallout 76: Wastelanders review – no longer a waste of time?

Fallout 76: Wastelanders screenshot
Fallout 76: Wastelanders – you’ll never walk alone (pic: Bethesda)

Bethesda’s infamous online version of Fallout receives its biggest expansion so far, but how much does it improve on the launch experience?

When we first reviewed Fallout 76, back in late 2018, we described it as ‘a bad idea, poorly executed’. We still think that’s entirely accurate and yet Bethesda, to their credit, has not abandoned the game and a steady series of more minor updates has led to Wastelanders, a free expansion that addresses many of the original complaints head-on. But the question is, when a game starts off as bad as Fallout 76 just how much better can it really expect to get?

If you’re not familiar with Fallout 76 its set-up is very straightforward. It’s a prequel to Bethesda’s other Fallout titles, a persistent multiplayer game that has you emerging from a vault of post-apocalyptic survivors with the goal of establishing a new society in terms of infrastructure and government. All of which sounds excitingly different to the Fallout norm, except what that translated to in practice was boring fetch quests, terrible combat, and some of the most broken gameplay mechanics and visuals we’ve ever seen in a full price video game.

But the design flaws were just as egregious, since bizarrely the original version had no proper non-player characters of any kind. At first Bethesda tried to pretend this was a positive, but that didn’t fool anyone and one of the major changes brought by Wastelanders is the addition of lots of computer-controlled characters you can talk to and take along as companions, just like a proper Fallout game.

Wastelanders introduces a new story campaign, which revolves around two factions of survivors, The Raiders and The Settlers. Given the less than subtle names they’ve chosen for themselves we think you can probably work out their general perspective on surviving the post-apocalypse, but you’re free to run missions with either, which increases your reputation level and gives you access to more missions and unlockable items you can buy from merchants.

The campaign runs to around 12 hours and is basically a mini-Fallout game, as you play both factions against each other until you’re forced to pick a side for the final mission. Being able to speak to real characters, instead of just logging into a computer or listening to audio files, makes a world of difference, with a proper dialogue system whose choices are in part determined by your own stats and skills.

All of this is a clear step forward but what’s not changed as much you’d hope is the missions, the majority of which are still just thinly veiled fetch quests. There has been an attempt to improve the existing missions as well, which were even worse, but there’s too few that have any real human element to them, with the ones where you’re helping someone out or talking to them always being significantly more interesting than just going to a location and killing a set number of enemies.

The quest design is still far too much like a 2000 era MMO than a proper Fallout game (not that Bethesda are necessarily the best mission creators in the business, even at the best of times) and that problem is compounded by the fact that, despite a few tweaks, the combat is still absolutely awful.

Because you can’t slow down time – since this is a multiplayer game and it’d affect everyone else too – V.A.T.S. doesn’t do anything but auto target specific body parts. So all you’re left with is the clunkiest first person shooter this side of the PS1 era, where you’re better of just hitting enemies with a club than trying to get into a serious firefight.

At the same time, the survival elements, where you have to constantly keep on top of your hunger, thirst, and radiation poisoning, remains nothing but a low-level irritation rather than anything that adds any tension or strategy to your adventure.

Fallout 76: Wastelanders screenshot
Fallout 76: Wastelanders – it’s good to talk (pic: Bethesda)

One element of the original that wasn’t underdeveloped though is the base construction, which is even more versatile than Fallout 4 and which you can see veteran players have mastered to create some hugely impressive camp sites. The interface is still fiddly and obtuse but thankfully most of the bugs and glitches from it, and the wider games, have been fixed – or at least lessened.

Without better combat or missions Fallout 76 is still a seriously flawed experience, but at least it works reasonably reliably now and doesn’t just feel like a half-finished mod by a not particularly skilled fan. Now it feels like a three-quarters finished mod by a semi-competent one. That’s not to suggest it’s in any way bug free though, and the frame rate can still slow down to a crawl at times, but now, 18 months after its initial release, it behaves like a normal multiplayer game at launch.

Fallout 76 still has a long, long way to go before it reaches anything like its full potential but oddly the greatest improvement we’ve noticed is nothing to do with Wastelanders or the addition of non-player characters; it’s the fact that the community is, generally speaking, extremely helpful and friendly. That’s not a thing you get to say about many video game communities but having stuck with such a pillorised game for so long they’d have to really love it, and that love is something they’re willing to share.

At least during launch week, you can easily find veteran players hanging around in highly visible locations, handing out items and resources to whoever wants it and offering to help out with quests and monsters. We’re not sure Bethesda has done anything to deserve such loyal and understanding fans, but the fact is they’re there and the social elements of Fallout 76 are as a result very compelling, especially in these strange days of self-isolation and government lockdowns.

Fallout 76 has been a public relations disaster for Bethesda from the moment it was announced, and with good reason. Wastelanders represents the most significant improvement so far and while the overall experience is still deeply flawed there are clearly people enjoying it, and sometimes that’s all that matters.

Fallout 76: Wastelanders review summary

In Short: Wastelanders transforms Fallout 76 from a technical and conceptual disaster to a merely flawed online experience, which has a far better online community than it deserves.

Pros: Proper non-player characters and companions make a world of difference, although not as much as the unusually friendly human players. Large and generally well-designed game world.

Cons: Most of the original gameplay flaws remain, including terrible combat and flaccid survival elements. Majority of mission quests are still formulaic and repetitive. Still some serious bugs and glitches and very outdated graphics.

Joe Lycett changing his name to Hugo Boss and back to Joe Lycett was, understandably, a ‘headache’

Joe Lycett admitted changing his name to Hugo Boss was a real headache – thankfully the results paid off.

The comedian became a national hero when he legally changed his name to Hugo Boss, sharing the same title as the infamous fashion house. Why?

Hugo Boss sent cease and desist letter to several small businesses who also had ‘boss’ in their names, including a small brewery in Swansea called Boss Ruin. In turn, they were being forced to cough up thousands in legal fees and rebranding while Hugo Boss was comfortably sitting on their billions without a care in the world.

Speaking from his garden, the 31-year-old told Steph McGovern during today’s The Steph Show the ordeal was a headache, but totally worth it.

‘I announced it six weeks ago but I changed it quite a long time before then, he said. ‘It’s a long of admin I can tell you that. I’m glad I did it because it had a really good effect and absolutely illustrated the issues I was concerned with.’

‘We just wanted to get a bit of exposure for the story and it went massive – it was global news for a while!

‘So yeah, I’m glad I went through it all but it was a headache for admin.’

Joe has since reverted back to Joe Lycett.

Yesterday, he released a statement which read: ‘A little over a month ago I changed my name by deed poll to Hugo Boss.

‘This was to raise awareness about the fact that fashion behemoth Hugo Boss have issued cease and desist letters to small businesses that have the word ‘Boss’ in their name, including independent Swansea brewery, Boss Brewing.

Funny skit video of Joe Lycett from tonight's Got Your Back changing his name to Hugo Boss
Joe changed his name as part of the Channel 4 series Got You Back (Picture: Channel 4)

‘And raise awareness it did – it became world news with headlines across the globe and also Dick n Dom from da Bungalow said I should be knighted.’

On why he decided to return to the House of Lycett, Joe continued: ‘Hugo Boss released a statement saying they “welcome the comedian formerly known as Joe Lycett to the Hugo Boss family.”

‘Well I have decided to go back to the Lycetts. They don’t target small businesses, if you ignore the time mum posted a dump to the local florist.’

The stint was in part for his Channel 4 series Get Your Own Back which serves as a watchdog for top consumers.

Tonight’s episode will see Joe and the team ‘secure one of the biggest financial victories ever seen on a consumer TV show,’ he added.

‘It is worth millions. It would be wrong for the company Hugo Boss to in any way take claim of this victory, or indeed many other victories across the series.’

The Steph Show airs weekdays at 12pm on Channel 4. Joe Lycett’s Get Your Own Back airs tonight at 8pm, also on Channel 4.

Gregg Wallace shares benefits to being ‘roughly same age’ as mother-in-law as they have 70s singalong

Gregg Wallace has made the rather startling revelation that he’s incredibly close with his wife’s mother ‘because they’re the same age’.

Come again?

The MasterChef presenter, 55, wed 34-year-old Anna in 2016 and has waxed lyrical on his relationship with his wife’s mother Rena, who lives with them in Kent alongside the couple’s 11-month-old son Sid and Anna’s dad Massimo.

Turns out while the pair have a 21-year age gap, he hardly noticed it when they wed – because he’s evidently having too much fun giggling at the in-jokes he shares with her mother.

‘I love Rena — we have such a giggle. We are roughly the same age,’ he told The Sun.

The star – who recently shed four stone – added: ‘Me and Rena remember the same TV shows and sing the same 1970s pop songs.

‘Anna doesn’t know what we are talking about. We were singing Boney M at breakfast this morning and Anna has no idea.’

Oh how they laugh.

Last year during an appearance on Lorraine, the pair lifted the lid on their relationship, insisting the differences in their ages doesn’t matter to them.

‘It does work, I don’t think age matters at all, it is just a number,’ Anna told the host.

‘I honestly now believe it’s a complete and utter game of chance,’ Gregg continued. ‘I’m not a different person, I’ve just met someone who really likes and appreciates who I am. The chances of meeting someone who has what you want, it’s got to be luck.’

The lovebirds first met over Twitter, after Anna reached out to the BBC One star to ask some advice for preparing duck.

That’s right, she basically slid straight into his DMs.

The pair tied the knot in 2016, with the pair recalling the two-year struggle they faced in conceiving Sid.

The foodie Gregg is also dad to son Tom and daughter Libby, from his marriage to second wife Denise.

Dwayne Johnson is refusing to post his workouts on social media during the coronavirus lockdown because he doesn’t want to be an ‘a**hole’ – his words.

There’s no denying the actor, also known as The Rock, is a fitness enthusiast and he’s never one to shy away from showing off his efforts in the gym on Instagram.

But, while many stars have turned to home workouts during lockdown, Dwayne won’t be sharing himself training while isolating at home because he doesn’t want to rub it in for those of us that can’t head to the gym.

He said: ‘I don’t post my workouts because I’m sensitive to millions of you around the world who aren’t able to train in your local gyms and you’re stuck at home.

‘I’d feel like an a**hole and it ain’t my style.’

Dwayne, who is set to star in new Disney film Jungle Cruise, continued: ‘Just know I’m working extremely hard and I want all of you to be back to working out ASAP too.’

Lockdown restrictions have seen people urged to stay indoors, with authorities shutting down social spaces including bars, restaurants, cinemas and gyms to prevent large gatherings.

Instead of working up a sweat for fans to see, Dwayne encouraged his followers to set themselves goals for when gyms finally do reopen.

‘I would take mental inventory of everything you have going on in your training and where you want to see improvement, where your challenges are and also embrace the wins.’

His parting words of wisdom? ‘Don’t skip leg day, men.’

Joe Wicks PE lesson YouTube
Many celebs have turned to home workouts during lockdown, with fitness star Joe Wicks becoming a PE teacher online for the UK (Picture: YouTube)

While stuck at home, there has been a surge in home workouts with many choosing to pass the time by staying active.

PE teacher to the nation Joe Wicks decided to host daily exercise classes to keep kids active while schools have been shut.

His YouTube success has seen The Body Coach star tipped for this year’s Sports Personality of the Year and he’s hit back at claims he is ‘cashing in’ on the coronavirus crisis with his daily videos.

While he says he doesn’t blame those for thinking that his videos will be generating revenue, he is actually donating any money made from the PE classes to the NHS.

Joe exclusively told Metro.co.uk: ‘As long as I’m doing these workouts specifically for schools, the money is going to go to the NHS. It’s the right thing to do, it feels right and I’m so glad I did that.’

On Thursday, reports revealed that cases of coronavirus in the UK have reached over 100,000, while the number of deaths have now surpassed 13,700.

While lockdown measures are starting to take affect on slowing the number of new cases of the virus, the government has extended such restrictions for another three weeks.

Tiger King’s Joe Exotic was ‘filmed having sex with animals’, according to Jeff Lowe

Jeff Lowe has accused Joe Exotic and John Finlay of having sex with animals, in a new Q&A session.

The zoo keeper came to fame thanks to Netflix documentary Tiger King, which followed his exploits at GW Zoo before he was sentenced to 22-years in prison over a string of animal abuse charges, as well as conspiring to kill enemy Carole Baskin.

However, since the series came to light, Joe’s former pal has made some allegations over his treatment of the animals that were in his care.

Jeff took part in a Reddit AMA session – where he quickly shut down any speculation he was secretly married to Carole.

And he claimed he had come across disturbing footage of the 57-year-old and former husband John Finlay.

Reddit user Snowbofreak asked if he had stumbled across any ‘weird s**t’ the Netflix star left behind at the zoo since he went to jail.

Replying via a video message, Jeff alleged: ‘I think the weirdest thing we found were the thumb drives that show Joe and John Finlay walking around, having sexual relations with some of the animals in the park.

‘We actually had a security guard that worked here, for Joe many, many years ago, that told us they used to pull animals in the house at about 2.30 in the morning and bring them out before sunrise.

‘That would probably be the weirdest and the most disgusting thing that I know about Joe. Thanks for the disturbing question.’

Joe is currently behind bars, but is well aware of the overnight sensation he has become on the outside world thanks to the Netflix series.

In fact, husband Dillon Passage revealed he is already plotting his return to showbiz with his own radio show.

However, we might be seeing a different side to the Tiger King star, after he revealed that being incarcerated has given him time to reflect on his actions.

In a candid chat with Neftlix, he confessed he was filled him with shame at the way he treated the 200 animals he housed at GW Zoo.

Pleading with fans to ‘go sit with your animals for a week’, he said: ‘I mean, when I left the zoo and sent my chimpanzees to the sanctuary in Florida and imagined what my chimpanzees went through for 18 years.

‘I’m ashamed of myself.’

Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for Joe and John for a comment.

Tiger King is available to stream on Netflix now.

Amanda Holden surprises NHS staff to show her appreciation during the coronavirus crisis

Amanda Holden has been throwing her support behind the NHS during the coronavirus crisis and decided to surprise hospital staff on Thursday night.

During this week’s #ClapForOurCarers initiative, Amanda took things one step further and took a break from quarantine to surprise staff working at West Middlesex hospital to show her appreciation.

Dressed in a rainbow ‘thank you’ tee that has been specially designed to raise donations for the NHS, Amanda stopped by the hospital entrance to clap as soon as it hit 8pm.

She was joined by Hounslow fire brigade who flashed their sirens and tooted their horns while showing their appreciation, all while keeping their distance to adhere to social distancing rules.

One hospital worker shared a picture of herself and a colleague posing with Amanda, albeit two metres apart, to Instagram and wrote: ‘ahh was actually really sweet finishing a shift in ED to a whole lot of clapping and a visit from Amanda Holden @noholdenback 😄

‘Alllll the love for my colleagues #nhs #clapforourcarers #stayhome.’

West Middlesex University Hospital tweeted a video of Amanda and locals proudly clapping for NHS staff to Twitter.

They tweeted: ‘Thank you to our wonderful local community for your amazing show of appreciation today, and every day, as we joined hands with our blue light colleagues to #ClapForCarers.

‘Thank to our longtime supporter @AmandaHolden for joining us! @LBofHounslow @HounslowFire.’

In the UK, the number of coronavirus cases has reached more than 100,000, with reports on Thursday revealing the number of deaths has now surpassed 13,700.

Amanda Holden has been spending lockdown at her Surrey home with husband Chris Hughes and their two daughters, Lexi and Holly.

She’s been keeping fans entertained despite being cooped at home and hilariously shared photos to social media of her getting all glammed up to take the bins out and donning her wedding dress just to mow the lawn.

Nothing surprises us anymore when it comes to life in quarantine, eh.

Fans have also seen Amanda back on their screens, as the new series of Britain’s Got Talent recently returned to ITV.

She joins fellow judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams, while Ant and Dec are back to host proceedings.

The show is currently airing audition stages filmed back in January, earlier this year, with ITV stating ahead of the show’s return that they are currently working out a way to air the live shows during the coronavirus crisis.

Ariana Grande, Beyonce and Christina Aguilera – all the highlights from Disney’s Family Singalong

Disney proved once again that they know the key to spreading happiness as they got the likes of Beyonce and Ariana Grande to sing Disney Classics for a special cause.

The talented musicians were among the stars who got together for the Disney Family Singalong on Thursday (April 17) to help lift spirits during the coronavirus pandemic.

The impressive line-up also included Christina Aguilera, Michael Buble, Demi Lovato, the cast of High School Musical, Luke Evans with Josh Gad and Alan Menken.

As well as Kristin Chenoweth, Thomas Rhett, John Stamos, Darren Criss, Donny Osmond and Josh Groban.

While the special isn’t set to air outside the States just yet, we take a look at some of the highlights from the epic performances.

Ariana Grande – I Won’t Say I’m In Love

Ms Grande has made it known time and time again that she loves a bit of Hercules so it’s no surprise she sang Meg’s iconic solo about love.

Ari completely got into the role as she wore a lilac dress similar to the character. Luckily she already rocks a high ponytail that would make Meg proud.

And because she was going all out, Ariana not only sang Meg’s part but also gave us the individual melodies of the Muses as well!

Beyonce – When You Wish Upon A Star

Queen Bey joined the Disney family last year when she took on the role of Princess Nala in The Lion King.

But she opted for a more classic film when it came the to singalong and performed When You Wish Upon A Star from 1940 animated classic Pinocchio.

Sharing a message of hope with fans amid the pandemic, she said: ‘I’d like to dedicate this song to all of the health care workers who have been working tirelessly to keep us healthy and safe. We greatly appreciate you.’

The High School Musical Cast – We’re All In This Together

The cast of High School Musical – including director Kenny Ortega and stars Corbin Bleu, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel and Monique Coleman – reunited to perform We’re All In This Together.

Sadly, Zac Efron was only present to introduce his former co-stars but Disney+ fans were thrilled to see High School Musical – The Musical: The Series stars like Joshua Bassett join in the fun.

What a moment!

Demi Lovato and Michael Buble – A Wish Your Heart Makes

Demi Lovato and Michael Buble also joined in as they treated fans to a duet of A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes from Cinderella.

During their performance, clips of families thanking healthcare working were played on the screen.

Images of other thanking all those working on the front line amid the COVID-19 crisis also appeared as they sang.

Christina Aguilera – Can You Feel The Love Tonight

Christina Aguilera delivered a typically powerful rendition of Can You Feel the Love Tonight from the original Lion King.

The singer has worked with Disney numerous times thanks to her part in the Mulan soundtrack.

We couldn’t get over the cuteness off her golden lab sleeping next to her.

Thomas Rhett and his daughters – Do You Want to Build a Snowman?

The country singer was joined by his gorgeous daughters Willa Gray, 4, and Ada James, 2, for the special event.

The trio sang the Frozen hit, Do You Want to Build a Snowman and it was too cute for words.

The special aired on ABC over in the US on Thursday night and was put on for fans as a little light relief from the current coronavirus pandemic. Worldwide there are currently over 2million cases of Covid-19.

The programme was raising awareness for Feeding America’s contributions to those without food in the midst of this crisis.

‘We’ve known each other since 1965. A lifetime. But all of us, we have words and refrains from him. His unique voice.’

The country’s culture minister, Franck Riester also paid homage to the star, writing on social media: ‘His words, his melodies and his voice transported us, moved us. With Christophe’s disappearance, the French singing world loses a part of its soul, but the bittersweet ‘blue’ of its songs is indelible.’

Chris, of Christine And The Queens added: ‘Oh non Christophe non non.’

Jean-Michel Jarre, who wrote alongside Cristophe for his songs Les Paradis Perdus in 1973 and 1974’s Les Mots Bleus said he had ‘lost a member of his tribe ‘.

‘He was more than a singer, he was a couturier of the song”, develops the composer, for whom the circumstances of this mourning are very painful: “We cannot say goodbye to him because of this f**king virus.’

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? creator wants coughing major Charles Ingram to ‘admit he cheated’ after Quiz success

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? creator wants Charles Ingram to ‘admit’ he cheated

After the success of ITV’s Quiz, the co-creator of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? has said he wants to Charles Ingram to ‘admit’ he cheated on the gameshow.

Viewers were hooked to the three-part drama which followed the coughing major scandal of 2001, as Charles (Matthew Macfadyen) and his wife Diana (Sian Clifford) were accused of cheating their way to £1 million on the popular programme.

The Major became one of the rare contestants to scoop the jackpot, but accusations were levied against him and his wife, saying that they had a ‘plant’ in the audience who would cough on the right answers.

Now, David Briggs – who created the original format alongside Mike Whitehill and Peaky Blinds scribe Steven Knight – has spoken out about the infamous case, and lets just say his feelings haven’t mellowed over the time.

Talking to The Sun, Briggs explained: ‘What I’d say to anyone uncertain of their guilt now is simple – go back and watch the programme.

‘I was there in the studio on the night it happened, and the evidence is compelling. I’m very protective of ‘Millionaire’. This is the show that I created. It was my little baby.’

On what he would say to Charles Ingram today, he admitted: ‘If I ever met them in the street, I’d ask them, “If my lips would be sealed for the rest of my life, tell me, Did you do it?”

‘I’d just like to hear him admit it.’

The writer of Quiz said prior to broadcast that the Ingrams were ‘happy’ that the drama would make audiences question what they thought they knew about the scandal.

‘We invited them on to the set, they met Sian and Matthew,’ James Graham explained.

‘I think, I hope, that since we are raising the possibility that all is not as it seems, they seem quite pleased that this conversation is being had.’

Quiz’s three episodes were framed through the Ingrams’ 2003 court trial, and audiences got to hear both sides of the story, from the prosecution and defence.

At the trial, both the Ingrams and Tecwen Whittock were found guilty on one count of procuring a valuable security by deception. They were both sentenced to 18 months and Whittock to 12 months in jail on a two-year suspended sentence.

One person still seemingly convinced of the Ingrams’ guilt, however, is Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? host Chris Tarrant, who called the Major a ‘rotter’ in an explosive attack.

Quiz is available to stream now via ITV Hub.

Jeremy Clarkson couldn’t help making a slight dig at Charles Ingram as he promoted his very own pub quiz.

The Grand Tour host shared a video on Twitter, inviting us all to take part in his quiz with DriveTribe.

And the 60-year-old didn’t resist teasing the infamous Who Wants To Be A Millionaire contestant – following the release of ITV series Quiz.

‘Greetings. At 7 o’clock this evening on the DriveTribe YouTube channel I’m going to be hosting a pub quiz,’ he told fans.

‘It’s rubbish and there’s no prize money but it’s very easy to cheat. You don’t even have to cough.

‘So, see you then. What else are you going to be doing? Watching Channel 4 News?’

Jeremy’s message comes after Quiz aired on ITV, with the series recalling the ‘coughing’ scandal – where Charles Ingram (Matthew Macfadyen) and his wife Diana (Sian Clifford) were accused of cheating their way to the jackpot on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

Accusations were levied that someone had been planted in the audience to help the Major during his time on the show in 2001, coughing on the correct answer – something they were later found guilty for.

Despite teasing Charles, Richard Hammond’s pal revealed he was a huge fan of the three-part drama.

Major Charles Ingram taking part in the ITV quiz show Who wants to be a Millionaire? . The major, his wife, Diana, and lecturer Tecwen Whittock were found guilty at Southwark Crown Court Monday April 7, 2003, of cheating their way to the top prize. Disgraced Charles Ingram, 39, tricked game show host Chris Tarrant into signing the million-pound cheque after using an accomplice's coded coughs to help select the answers. The Ingrams, of High Street, Easterton, Wiltshire, and Whittock, who lives at Heol-y-Gors, Whitchurch, Cardiff, and is head of business studies at Pontypridd College, south Wales, were each found guilty of one count of 'procuring the execution of a valuable security by deception' on September 10, 2001.COURTS Millionaire 8... Before the show aired on Monday, he told his loyal Twitter followers: ’Quiz is about to start on @ITV. It’s pretty good.’

High praise indeed.

Jeremy definitely wasn’t wrong, with audiences around the UK crying out for more episodes – or a showing of the original episode at the very least.

Unfortunately for us all, ITV has confirmed they will not be airing Charles’ stint in the ITV chair any time soon.

And we are devastated.

A spokesperson told Metro.co.uk: ‘There are no plans to air this episode on ITV.

‘There are rumours floating around but this isn’t the case nor in the schedule.’

The only way to watch the episode is through clips on YouTube – where you can find us for the foreseeable future.

Dr Phil divides opinion as he rants lockdown will kill more ‘vulnerable’ people than coronavirus

Doctor Phil McGraw has caused an uproar with fans after he claimed lockdown will create more deaths than coronavirus itself.

The TV personality compared the pandemic to car crash deaths, swimming pool drownings, smoking-related deaths and other illnesses like strokes or dementia as he ranted the ‘country doesn’t shut down for that’.

His comments come after protesters in the US marched against the lockdown and Donald Trump said 29 states should re-open.

During an interview with Fox News on Thursday night, the 69-year-old claimed that the ‘longer this lockdown goes on, the more vulnerable people get’.

‘It’s like there’s a tipping point. There’s a point at which people start having enough problems in lockdown that it will actually create more destruction and actually more deaths across time than the actual virus will itself,’ he explained.

Dr Phil who is not a medical doctor but has a PhD in psychology went on to compare coronvirus deaths to those who die from poverty and car crashes.

‘Two hundred fifty people a year die from poverty, and the poverty line is getting such that more and more people are going to fall below that because the economy is crashing around us,’ he commented.

‘And they’re doing that because people are dying from the coronavirus, I get that. But look, the fact of the matter is, we have people dying, 45,000 people a year die from automobile accidents, 480,000 from cigarettes, 360,000 a year from swimming pools, we don’t shut the country down for that.’

‘But yet we’re doing it for this? And the fallout is going to last for years because people’s lives are being destroyed,’ he continued.

He added: ‘So we think we’re protecting people’s lives by keeping them locked up. You keep it locked up long enough, there’s a paradoxical effect.

‘You actually destroy more lives than you do by letting them go out and protect themselves and up into their lives to fight for what they believe in.’

Following his TV appearance, viewers took to social media to share their thoughts and many were not happy with Dr Phil’s comments.

One tweeted: ‘I am a bit disappointed by Dr Phil… Cigarettes and drowning are not contagious. Covid 19 is.’

‘Dr. Phil says we don’t shut down the country for automobile deaths or cigarette deaths or swimming pool deaths so why do it for coronavirus he asks. 1 of the above is contagious. The 3 others are not,’ one viewer said.

Another commented: ‘So disappointed in Dr Phil.’

One added: ‘Dr. Phil has given dangerous advice on the coronavirus.’

Metro.co.uk has reached out to Dr Phil’s rep for further comment.

Leighton Meester hasn’t commented about the speculation she could be expecting her second baby with hubby Adam Brody.

But one thing she isn’t going to tolerate is trolls trying to comment on her figure online as the Gossip Girl star hit back when one claimed she is ‘fat’.

During an Instagram Live with her Single Parents co-star Kimrie Lewis-Davis, Leighton noted: ‘Somebody just told me I got fat – that’s nice.’

She then went on to call the troll out by name as she singled them out to say ‘Hi.’

Kimrie then added: ‘That’s not nice you, guys.’

It comes after Leighton, 33, set the rumour mill ablaze last month when she stepped out with an apparent baby bump.

Leighton and her husband Adam welcomed daughter Arlo back in 2015.

Speaking to GQ, Adam – best known for playing Seth Cohen in The O.C – previously said that becoming a dad has given him a ‘new perspective’ in life.

He said: ‘It’s the best in every way. It just gives you a new perspective in the best way—something to focus on that’s greater and more important than yourself.’

The couple are known for being notoriously private when it comes to their personal life.

Touching on why, Leighton told Refinery 29: ‘I don’t talk about Arlo very much. I am very proud of that area of my life, but I’m also really proud of the show and the work I do.

‘I think the perception is: You’re an ingenue or you’re an icon or you’re a mom. There’s no in-between.’

Leighton is best known for playing Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl and now stars in US series Single Parents.

She and Adam began dating after they met filming for The Oranges in 2010 and they later got engaged in 2013.

The couple married a year later in a private ceremony held in 2014.
