Miley Cyrus blasts slut-shamers and begs for peace as she addresses Cody Simpson kiss

After being spotted kissing Australian singer Cody Simpson, Miley Cyrus has now addressed the details surrounding their ‘romance’.

The singer shocked fans after she was seen kissing the 22-year-old while on a date together by a fan, and now Miley herself has shared the footage, while joking that Cody is ‘her type’.

Taking to Instagram stories, the 26-year-old first shared a topless picture of the singer, as she gushed that his features ticked a lot of her boxes: ’22, Australian (my type), abs.’

It’s no surprise that Australian guys are her type – her ex-husband is fellow Australian actor Liam Hemsworth, after all.

She later reposted the footage of her and Cody puckering up on their date, as she commented: ‘Can a girl not get a f**king acai bowl and a morning make out session in peace?’

And that was all before Miley shared a statement, as she admitted that she finds it frustrating dating people while in the public eye.

‘I know the public feels invested in my past relationship because they felt like they saw it thru from the beginning,’ she began.

‘I think that’s why people have always felt so entitled over my life and how I live it because they’ve watched me grow up.

‘But I am grown now and make choices as an adult know the truth/details/reality.’

The singer also addressed the double standards in the entertainment industry towards women and men dating, stating her male counterparts rarely get ‘slut shamed’ for their actions, while women are slated for moving on from a relationship quickly.

She continued: ‘This “dating” thing is new to me too.

‘I’ve never been an ‘adult’/grown ass woman experiencing this… I was in a committed relationship for almost all my teens and early 20s, with the exception of a few breaks, which usually in those times I was working my a** off with not much and R&R.

‘Get used to me dating – this is where I am at!’

She later stated that she does not want people to ‘pity’ her and make things ‘awkward’ for her, but she still has a ‘great life’ she enjoys.

It all comes following Miley’s split to Kaitlynn Carter.

The two enjoyed a whirlwind summer romance following the end of the Wrecking Ball star’s marriage to Liam Hemsworth, with the pair being pictured kissing while on holiday in Italy.

However, it was reported two weeks ago that the couple had broken up, but had decided to remain friends, according to a source from People.

‘Miley and Kaitlynn broke up. They’re still friends, they’ve been friends forever and were there for each other when they were both getting separated,’ they stated.
