Noel Fielding has landed a pay rise of £150,000 to secure him as host for The Great British Bake Off for a while longer, according to new reports.
Following his co-star Sandi Toksvig quitting the series after three years in the Bake Off tent, bosses have been keen to keep Noel on board – and so have upped his pay packet a hefty amount.
A replacement for Sandi is yet to be announced, but Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith are both due to return for this year’s series, which will air in the Autumn.
‘With Sandi leaving, it’s important they keep up with continuity to ensure people continue. Noel secured a healthy salary rise off the back of the success of the first two series,’ a source told The Sun.
Noel, who joined the show alongside Sandi when the show moved over to Channel 4 from the BBC, has also had quite the year with his income soaring £250k to more than a million year.
He’s also reportedly fronting a new TV series called Creationism, a celebrity competition that will see them put their creative skills to the test.
But he’s sure to miss Sandi, with the pair proving to be an oddly perfect pair to host the show after Mel and Sue quit the series.
After Sandi announced she was leaving, Noel admitted he felt ‘like Tom without Jerry’ in a sweet comment on her exit.
The pair will be seen on screen together for the upcoming final episodes – a celebrity series in aid of Stand Up To Cancer.
Celebs including Kelly Brook, Ovie Soko, Joel Dommett and Alison Hammond will be taking part.
The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer airs 10 March at 8pm on Channel 4.
