Lady Gaga has finally announced both the title and the release date for her upcoming sixth studio album – and we are so excited, we cannot breathe.
The singer officially confirmed the album is titled Chromatica, and its release date is 10th April – so only one month away folks!
And if that wasn’t enough, fans can pre order the album right now.
Taking to Twitter, Gaga tweeted: ‘Welcome to Chromatica, coming April 10. Pre-order now.’
She also shared an interesting-looking image of a pink-coloured symbol, although she confirmed that this is not the final album cover, with the artwork to be announced in due course.
‘This is not the album cover but we made it for you to enjoy in the meantime,’ she added.
It is Gaga’s first studio album in four years, following the release of Joanne in 2016 – although in between that time, she released the soundtrack for her film A Star Is Born in 2018.
As you can expect, fans are very excited at the prospect of a new Lady Gaga album after so long.
‘WE WAITED SO LONG AND NOW IT’S FINALLY HERE I CAN’T BELIEVE,’ one fan tweeted.
‘ON MY WAY TO PREORDER!!’ another wrote.
Yes, us too.
The confirmation of the album comes after Gaga released its lead single, Stupid Love, last Friday, alongside its space-themed music video.
Although it is worth noting that for most fans, this would not have been their first time listening to the song – as it leaked back in January, sending Twitter into meltdown.
However, that doesn’t seem to have harmed the song’s chances of being a success – as it looks as if it could be the UK number one single come Friday, according to a first look update from the Official Charts Company.
Gaga recently revealed that the track is a ‘special song’, and she wrote it ‘with a lot of love’.
‘Stupid Love is a really special song to me,’ she told Kiss FM. ‘I worked on it with a few different people, Bloodpop and Tchami being some of them as well as Max Martin.
‘I wrote this song with a lot of my love in my heart and a lot of belief that the world operates because of kindness and love.
‘I think that for some of us, it’s easier to love and for others it’s harder to love and the more vulnerable we are, the more brave we are to open ourselves up to really, really love each other.
‘I think that love heals the world, I think it keeps us together. It’s how we survive as a planet and I wanted to make a song that really celebrated love and reminded us all how important it is.’
Lady Gaga’s sixth studio album Chromatica will be released on 10th April.
