f(x) singer Luna broke down after revealing she lost another friend to suicide a month after bandmate Sulli tragically passed away.

The K-Pop stars were close friends, both forming part of f(x) before Sulli’s death, which was ruled as a suspected suicide.

On a recent episode of Human Documentary People is Good, Luna made a heartbreaking confession about the loss of another close friend.

Speaking about her late friend Lee Ji Eun (Sophia), she revealed: ‘She was family to me. She lived with me at my house, and she was like my best friend. Life must have been too painful for her.

‘I can’t understand everything, but I know she was in pain. She was a friend who had many similarities to me. We relied on each other and promised to overcome everything together. So I didn’t know she’d just leave like that.’

Lee was also a trainee who dreamed of debuting but changed her career path early on.

Luna went on to express her deep regret about not being there when it happened.

‘Why did I have to sleep at that time?’ she continued. ‘Why did I fall asleep? It happened in the span of an hour. I regret it and I miss her a lot.’

On 14 October 2019, Sulli (real name was Choi Jin-ri) was found dead in her home.

The late star was scouted by South Korea’s largest entertainment company, SM Entertainment when she was 16 years old and initially forged a career as a young actress.

She was then recruited by SM to join their new five-member dance-focused pop group, f(x).

The band was compromised of Sulli and Luna, as well as fellow stars Victoria, Amber, and Krystal.

The singer had been open about her struggles with trolling, having left f(x) on hiatus in 2014 due to the malicious comments she was receiving online.

A statement at the time from SM Entertainment read: ‘f(x) member Sulli became mentally and physically exhausted from the continuous, malicious comments and false rumours, and has expressed her wish to take a break from her celebrity activities for the time being.

‘After careful deliberation and taking her wish into consideration, we will reduce her activities and let her take a break for the time being.’
