James Martin well and truly blew our minds on This Morning today, as he dished out some bizarre advice concerning olive oil.
The chef was appearing on a cooking segment, speaking to Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby when he dropped this very niche bit of advice.
It concerned olive oil, and why you should never, ever, leave your bottle on a windowsill.
‘Don’t put olive oil on the window sill, because it will go off,’ James explained.
‘Oil is light sensitive, so [put it in a] dark cupboard or away from that windowsill.’
Well, that is truly something we never knew before. Did anyone else know that oil is light sensitive?
We’re now desperatley trying to remember if we ever put olive oil on the windowsill, but still, into the cupboard it goes.
Thanks James! Any more tips while you’re at it, please?
The former Saturday Kitchen host previously attracted a bit of controversy on This Morning, however, due to an ‘overly complex’ recipe.
Ingredients that James said people needed to cook the recipe included a special kind of tomato that you can only find in Italy (which you have to order online) and a specific kind of mozzerella cheese.
He also recommended that you cook the pizza in a specialist pizza oven, although Phillip Schofield did ask if you can cook it on an outdoor barbecue – which apparently you can.
Viewers at home definitely weren’t impressed with the former Saturday Kitchen star, they gathered on social media to slam the expensive recipe.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10.30 am on ITV.
