It’s official: BBC Three will be an online-only channel from 2016.
Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe, and Jack Whitehall and BAFTA winner Olivia Colman all joined a campaign to keep the channel available on TV, however their efforts were to no avail, and it will close in January 2016.
The BBC Trust confirmed the news on Tuesday, saying that it was clear that ‘the long-term future of broadcasting is online.’
