A reader argues that, as minor as the difference may be, the PlayStation 4’s superior processing power is why it’s winning the console war.
History has taught us the processing power of a console has no direct influence on its success, and although the least powerful has reigned supreme on occasions, there’s no direct link to technical inferiority either. However, the Wii and its successor are the only instances the disparity in processing power has been so vast, previous discrepancies were marginal by comparison. Certainly PlayStation 2 wasn’t overlooked because it was technically inferior to its competitors, nor did multiformat titles suffer greatly by comparison.
