Love Wes Anderson’s films? Partial to a spot of Stanley Kubrick? Then this inspired little clip is for you.
In fact the two directors – despite producing very different types of films – do seem to go together rather well in this brilliant YouTube mash-up of two of their most famous efforts, The Grand Budapest Hotel and The Shining.
The clip – by filmmaker Steve Ramsden/ takes all the quirkiness of Wes Anderson’s movie, together with footage of Ralph Fiennes and his ‘lobby boy’ – and splices it together with scenes from Kubrick’s horror classic
The result? A whole new movie- or at least a trailer for one – called (unsurprisingly) The Grand Overlook Hotel.
