Jeff Goldblum has further whetted our appetites for Independence Day: Resurgence by posting the first teaser for the film to his Facebook page.
The actor uploaded the 12-second clip – yes it really is that short – over the July 4 weekend, saying: ‘We thought we wiped them out. The Resurgence is here.’
Although the footage gives away almost nothing of the film, it does offer a hint at what we can expect, showing a flickering landscape over the phrase ‘We’re fighting for our right to live, to exist.’

An even shorter teaser was later posted to the official Independence Day Twitter page, telling us: ‘The fight for mankind continues.’
