It’s probably most tribute acts’ dream to pay with their real life counter parts.
For one act, it happened.
And not with just some Z-list musician who popped on stage – they got to play with U2 in front of 20,000 people.
Acrobat, fronted by Gabriel Pate, was enjoying Bono and co’s gig in Toronto when Bono spotted them in the crowd.
‘Bono looked over and pointed at Mark [Baker] and myself and said, “You got the whole band here? Okay, let’s go”‘, Gabriel told Rolling Stone.
‘I don’t have any more fan goals at this point. What happened is as good as it gets … I performed in front of 20,000 people last night on the biggest stage in Toronto. It’s ridiculous. How do you top that?’
