Poppy Lodge care home in the Midlands has a controversial way of helping those suffering from dementia.
The staff at Poppy Lodge don’t seek to correct the reality that the residents, who have dementia, believe, but instead choose to embrace it and recreate their memories from long ago.
This is method is being used in over 100 care homes around the UK as it is said to reduce anxiety and increase well-being.
