Coronation Street aired its send off for Deirdre Barlow and it was all too much.
Deirdre Barlow’s funeral aired on Coronation Street on Monday night, and it was both beautiful, sad, and tense in equal measure.
While the Street’s residents tried to say goodbye to a beloved neighbour, Ken Barlow was seething over the knowledge that daughter Tracy’s latest antics stopped Deirdre from coming home.
The show handled the Barlow matriarch’s funeral beautifully, with the cast singing Bridge Over Troubled Water a particular heartfelt highlight.
But it was Ken’s moving eulogy for his wife, which included a couple of mentions of her late Blanche, that really had fans blubbing into their settees.
