Life can be tough for former 90s chart-toppers – especially when it comes to trying to recapture past glories.
As singer Brandy Norwood discovered when she took the opportunity to burst in to song on the New York subway earlier this week.
Because despite her best efforts to entertain a crowded subway carriage with her rendition of Home from the musical The Wiz, not one of her fellow commuters appeared to notice who she was.
All of which made for a rather awkward video as the now 36-year-old singer (in somewhat tongue in cheek fashion, we’ll wager), came to terms with being ignored.
‘People in New York are very rude,’ she said. ‘I sang from the heart, and nobody on the train responded.
‘I’m so very – emotional right now.’
