Former Coronation Street writer Kay Mellor has slammed Deirdre Barlow’s funeral scenes as ‘false’.
Mellor, who used to write for the soap in the 1980s, said she didn’t feel the emotion she expected to when she watched the scenes.
Deirdre Barlow’s funeral aired on Monday, and saw her husband Ken, played by Bill Roache, give an emotional eulogy to his wife.
