Whether you, or your wallet, likes it or not the concept of ‘toys to life’ is not going away. Skylanders pioneered the idea, of selling figurines which unlock new characters and features in a game, but there’s now also Disney Infinity, Nintendo’s amiibos, and the forthcoming Lego Dimensions, all of which are trying to convince you to not only buy a game but to constantly update it with new toys.
