It has won rave reviews and been described as a powerful ‘coming of age story’ that is ’empowering’ for women but the team behind controversial new film Diary Of A Teenage Girl have been left disappointed to be told that the movie will be given an 18-rating.

Diary Of A Teenage Girl, written, produced and directed by women, follows the open and honest journey of a young girl through her teenage years.

Due to the inclusion of a sexual relationship between the 15-year-old character and the 35-year-old boyfriend of her mother’s boyfriend, the British Board Of Film Classification (BBFC) reached the decision to give it the fully adult rating, thus potentially restricting much of the audience the film… Read the full story
