One Direction fans woke up to an unexpected treat this morning as the group dropped a new single… and promptly sent the song to the top of the iTunes chart.
Drag Me Down, 1D’s first single since Zayn Malik left the band, was released early this morning with no promotion or radio airplay, but still went straight in at Number 1 on Spotify and iTunes.
Catching everyone off guard, Drag Me Down was released at 6.30am and raced up the trending topics list on Twitter, and fans were quick to sing the praises of the new song which is set to mark a more ‘mature One Direction sound’.
