Spanish authorities have confirmed that Cilla Black died from a stroke after falling and hitting her head at her holiday villa.
Although initial reports suggested that the post-mortem did not reveal the cause of the 72-year-old’s death, a judge and coroner in Spain confirmed on Tuesday that the autopsy had been ‘conclusive’.
Authorities said she had been sunbathing on the terrace of her Spanish holiday home in Marbella when she stood up, lost her balance and fell – with the resulting blow to the head knocking her unconscious.
They said she subsequently suffered a stroke and died – but would not have suffered.
