Having teased us by claiming we would ‘blow out our collective sphincters‘, Ryan Reynolds has finally delivered his trailer for Deadpool.
And it’s bloody hilarious… although a full change of trousers hasn’t been required just yet.
Based on one of Marvel’s most unconventional comic book characters, Deadpool is a former special services operative who is turned into a wise-cracking assassin with a penchant for bad jokes and extreme violence.
This movie version gives the character – once again played by Reynolds after his debut in X-Men Origins: Wolverine – a backstory that sees him dying from cancer.
Reynolds first outing as Wade Wilson, who becomes red spandex-wearing anti-hero Deadpool, was an unmitigated disaster. For some reason, a character known for having the smartest mouth in the Marvel Universe was left as a mute.
