After 16 years, four presidential elections, a Rally to Restore Fear And/Or Sanity, and some of the best monologues in TV history, Jon Stewart has bowed out of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show.
The final broadcast of the satirical comedy show saw a host of celebs turn out to celebrate Jon’s last show – and in a sweet twist of fate, it aired the same night of the first Republican primary debate, a topic ripe for Jon’s classic wit.
In his closing monologue, Jon told us: ‘Nothing ends. It’s just a continuation. It’s a pause in the conversation.
‘So rather than saying goodbye or good night, I’m just going to say I’m gonna go get a drink.’
