Legendary crooner Prince says record contracts can amount to ‘indentured servitude’ and new musicians shouldn’t sign them.
The singer is gearing up to release his new album HitNRun via Tidal, the streaming service owned by Jay Z.
Prince was speaking to reporters at Paisley Park Studios in Minneapolis when, according to NPR, he remarked: ‘Record contracts are just like – I’m gonna say the word – slavery. I would tell any young artist…don’t sign.’
