Actor Emile Hirsch, most famous for starring in Sean Penn’s film Into The Wild, has been jailed for 15 days after pleading guilty to an aggravated assault on a female studio executive.
Daniele Bernfield, who is an executive for Insurge Pictures, alleged that Hirsh grabbed her in a chokehold in a nightclub.
The actor has entered into a plea bargain deal with the court which, alongside his jail sentence, will see him ordered to undertake 50 hours of community service. He was also fined $4,750 (£3,048).
According to court documents, Hirsch was unsteady on his feet and slurring his words at the time of the assault.
