The latest trailer for Sir Ridley Scott’s The Martian has gone live and NASA are truly loving it.
According to the LA Times, NASA director of planetary science, Jim Green, thought the sci-fi movie ‘could be great publicity for hoped-for manned missions to Mars.’
The Martian is based on Andy Weir’s 2012 e-book about an astronaut stranded on Mars, who has to make two months of supplies last four years in order to survive long enough for a crew to rescue him.
Matt Damon plays the lead character Mark Watney, whose plight is reminiscent of Tom Hanks in Castaway though instead of a Wilson volleyball Watney has a GoPro camera to keep him company and sane.
