The next Strictly Come Dancing contestant is The Wanted’s Jay McGuiness.
The former pop star was confirmed as the tenth contestant on BBC Radio 1 during a live interview before the BBC Strictly Twitter account followed up the announcement with a tweet welcoming Jay to the 13th series of the show.
‘My family are such huge Strictly fans, I know I’ve made them very happy by taking part – I can’t wait to get started!’ Jay revealed.
‘I love to dance but this is going to be so different from anything I have done before. I’m up for it!’
Jay shot to fame with The Wanted, who hit the Top 10 in the UK charts ten times throughout their successful career, although the band sadly split in 2014.
