American Ultra’s screenwriter Max Landis has taken to Twitter to make his feelings about the film’s box office reception all too clear.
The action comedy, which stars Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart, didn’t exactly distinguish itself when it opened in the US over the weekend – taking just $5.5m (£3.4M) in its opening few days.
Meanwhile the weekend’s other two major releases, Hitman Agent 47 and Sinister 2, both fared better in spite of proving less popular with the critics
