The BBC’s director of television Danny Cohen has admitted he is ‘truly sorry’ that Sir Tom Jones was upset by the decision to axe him from The Voice UK.
The Welsh singing legend, who was a coach on the first four series of the show, was abruptly dropped from the line-up earlier this month – with, as he later revealed, ‘no conversation or consulation of any kind’.
And speaking at the Edinburgh International Television Festival Cohen apologised to Sir Tom for the upset the news had caused.
