They might be billed as the very stereotype of the ‘bad guy’, but admit it, you can’t help but have a soft spot for criminals, especially if they’re on the small screen.
From the pin stripe suit and fedora wearing 1920s fast talking gangsters to the gritty modern-day criminals looking to make a quick buck at other people’s expense, we end up admiring them all, even if what they do is less than legal.
While you can’t wait for some of them to get their comeuppance, some you fall in love with and don’t really mind what they get up to as long as they survive.
Whether they have turned to a life of crime to support their beloved family, commit their dastardly deeds with such style and humour, or simply that they stick to their own – albeit slightly twisted- strict moral code, it is the human side of organised crime that really enthrals us.
