Looks like Will Smith may be gunning for his third Oscar nomination as the first trailer for his new sports drama Concussion drops.
Based on a true story, Will will play Nigerian doctor Dr. Bennet Omalu (with a very convincing accent) who goes up against the NFL after discovering chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) or repetitive head trauma, a condition which affect the brains of players who suffer repeated blows to the head.
There’s at least three reasons in that sentence that suggest this film is classic Oscar bait but in Will’s defence, Concussion actually looks very good.
