Described in the press release as ‘a rousing tale of a simple sea sponge who faces the unfathomable’, Spongebob the Musical will feature original songs by some big names.
David Bowie, Steven Tyler and John Legend are just some of the artists involved behind the scenes.
Cyndi Lauper, The Flaming Lips, Lady Antebellum, Panic! At The Disco and They Might Be Giants have also penned songs that will no doubt become instant classics.
But don’t show up expecting just a stage version of the cartoon.
