They may have found a new home on Amazon Prime but for a good while it was almost a given that former Top Gear stars Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May were headed for Netflix.
Since leaving the hit motoring show, which is to be taken over by Chris Evans, the trio had been at the centre of a bidding war, with Amazon finally offering them a mammoth budget worth £160million. Yep, that’s a staggering £4.4million per episode – think how many limousines they can crash with that!
