Saturday night TV has always been one of the most interesting ratings battles of the year and it looks like Strictly Come Dancing is reigning supreme.
The BBC dancing competition beat The X Factor with a staggering 8.7million viewers compared to the ITV singing contest’s 7.5million.
Strictly’s viewing figures were up on 2014’s 8.4million viewers making it the biggest launch rating results in the show’s history.
A Strictly source told Metro.co.uk: ‘Everyone is delighted that Strictly has had its highest ratings for a launch show since 2006.
