Saved By The Bell actor Dustin Diamond, who is famous for playing Screech in the cult sitcom, has been found not guilty of recklessly endangering public safety following his trial over the stabbing of a man on Christmas Day.
Diamond could have faced several years in prison if convicted, but had pleaded not guilty to the felony and a jury took just a few hours to acquit the 38-year-old.
He was however found guilty of two misdemeanors relating to the brawl – namely carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct. The first of these charges carries a maximum penalty of nine months imprisonment but sentencing is yet to take place.
