The Force Awakens hasn’t even previewed yet, but that hasn’t stopped the powers that be starting filming for its successor – the as yet unnamed Episode 8.
Rumours circulated that a last minute re-shoot for JJ Abrams’ The Force Awakens was taking place on the Irish islands of Skellig Michael, but Lucasfilm big-wigs told Entertainment Weekly that the scenes were in fact for Rian Johnson’s 2017 sequel.
The two be-puffined islands of Skellig Michael sit eight miles off the south eastern coast of Eire, and were also shooting locations during summer 2014 for The Force Awakens, which hits cinemas this December.
