Doctor Who returns to our screens on Saturday. Here’s a quick reminder of ten of the key themes and storylines that occurred in season eight, Peter Capaldi’s first as everyone’s favourite Time Lord.
1. Familiar foes
In addition to new foes such as the Skovox Blitzer, the Foretold and the Boneless, season eight also saw the return of the Clockwork Droids, the Daleks and the Cybermen.
2. And a not so-familiar face
Oh, and the Master – in the form of Missy. Definitely not the Rani, then. She was apparently disintegrated by the Cyber-Brigadier at the end of the season finale.
3. P.E.
Clara gained a boyfriend in maths and P.E. teacher Rupert ‘Danny’ Pink, a former soldier who killed an innocent boy while serving in Afghanistan.
