Three Billboards Outside Of Ebbing, Missouri director Martin McDonagh has admitted that it was not his choice to offer a statement defending his film.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk after winning the Bafta for Outstanding British Film, he revealed that believe he was forced to offer a statement to defend his work as it was awards season.
‘If I had a choice I’d let the film speak for itself movies always take five or ten years to be seen as a piece of work that it is, but it’s almost more of an awards season thing that i had to say that,’ he said.
