We’re used to seeing Joanne Froggatt in her black and white lady’s maid uniform, but she got to enjoy a little of Lady Mary’s style for a special shoot to celebrate women in film ahead of the 59th BFI London Film Festival.
The Downton Abbey star has teamed up with LFF title sponsor American Express by posing for some beautiful pictures wearing a vintage 1920s dress, that was turned into an exclusive cinemagraph inspired by the festival’s opening gala film Suffragette.
WilliamVintage founder and Amex style ambassador, William Banks-Blaney, dressed Joanne for the shoot in vintage couture from the Roaring Twenties, as well as chic Sixties pieces to celebrate the American Express gala premiere of Carol, starring Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara.
William said: ‘It has been an exciting challenge to re-create the iconic looks from these pivotal decades, which were important eras for women in the film industry and beyond.
