
Former Office and The Hobbit star Martin Freeman has made an appeal to Prime Minister David Cameron to outlaw wild animal acts within circus circuits.
The 44-year-old animal lover was writing on behalf of PETA – People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals – saying: ‘I’d like to see my children grow up in a country where animals are treated with respect, not as objects of ridicule.’
The Sherlock star went on to argue that ‘allowing circuses with wild animals to continue sends the message that it’s okay to dominate animals and ignore pain and suffering’.
