Ron Moody, most famous for his role in the 1968 musical hit Oliver! has died at the age of 91.
The actor is thought to have passed away in hospital, although details of his death have not yet been released, although it’s thought he suffered from a long-term illness.
He is survived by his wife Therese, who said: ‘He brought joy to his family and to the hearts of many and will be greatly missed. He was singing until the end.’
He was nominated for an Oscar for his role as the man who taught the children of Oliver Twist how to make a living through pickpocketing, and he won a Golden Globe.
The 91-year-old leaves behind his wife and six children.
