A New York Post film critic has been widely criticised for his sexist piece on Goodfellas.
Entitled ‘Women are not capable of understanding Goodfellas’, writer Kyle Smith begins his tirade on the female sex by recalling the time he watched the Martin Scorsese movie with an ex-girlfriend who didn’t like it.
It seems that one experience, with that one woman, has emboldened Smith to suggest all women cannot enjoy the gangster film, ‘except silent floozies’, because of the many scenes of violence, laddish banter and card games.
