Channel 4 aired a groundbreaking and fascinating documentary, The Tribe, which allowed us an insight into the day to day life of an Ethiopian tribe.
While the differences between ourselves and their culture are huge and pretty obvious, from the lack of technology and electricity to arranged marriages and the use of livestock as currency, it was refreshing too to see that there were a surprising amount of similarities too.
The personalities of members of the tribe shone through with humour, love and resilience to their harsher lives and environments.
In particular, viewers were left with a lot of affection for elder Ayke Mukos, a grumpy but sharp patriach of a large family.
