Recently, I was replaying Haunting Ground for the PlayStation 2. And this was going to be a retro review. Because it’s a decent, little game – a quirky, traditional survival horror right at the end of their golden age, before Shinji Mikami and Resident Evil 4 closed that particular door. Very slow, of course – most traditional survival horrors are. But Hewie, your faithful canine companion for most of the game’s duration, is an awesome gameplay device. As are the Resident Evil 3: Nemesis style bits.
