Despite the petition calling for her to be sacked having broken past 55,000 signatures, Kay Burley is to face no action over her recent controversial interview with Alton Towers CEO Nick Varney.
Ofcom received 1816 complaints about the interview, which many viewers deemed to be an unprofessional attack, but they have confirmed that they will not be launching any further investigations into the matter.
An Ofcom spokesperson said: ‘We received a number of complaints about Kay Burley’s questioning style during an interview about an accident at Alton Towers. We have carefully assessed whether this interview exceeded generally accepted standards.
