Jeremy Kyle was left running for his life filming a new series of The Kyle Files as knife-wielding thugs started going for him.

The TV presenter and agony uncle bit off a bit more than he could chew in filming for the new series after landing in the middle of a gang turf away.

As he investigated the rising popularity of moped muggings in the capital, weapons were suddenly drawn and the team scattered in a bid to save their lives.

Until that moment, Jeremy was trying to relate to the young gangs, and met them in a park to discuss why they chose to embrace that lifestyle.

The telly star was filming a new episode of his ITV show The Kyle Files when he found himself in the middle of a turf war. Kyle, 53, was investigating moped muggings with a camera crew in a London park when the scene turned nasty and he fled for his life. One lad was knocked out, while the TV crew ran away being chased by thugs with knives. The host had been interviewing anonymous gang members, who claimed moped muggings were "easy money". One man started shouting before other gang members on mopeds started riding towards the group. Security guards told Kyle and his crew to leave and in the voice over he claimed "a guy with a knife" chased them.

In one chilling chat, a brazen moped yob declared it was ‘easy money’ for them to snatch and run with other people’s belongings, using a moped as a getaway vehicle.

However, things get territorial after a new gang arrives and declares the crew are filming on their turf – and demand their immediate removal.

This is what causes Jeremy and his team to make a run for it – but thankfully they all got out in one piece.

‘Wow, wow. I guess that’s the reality. I’d guess you’d say that turned a bit nasty,’ Jeremy later told the camera.

‘Suddenly two youths – their area apparently – arrived on bikes and wanted us out.’

‘We’ve had to get out of there as quickly as possible, make sure the crew are okay. They were not happy,’ he added.

The Kyle Files continues next Monday at 8pm on ITV.
