K-pop singer Jung Joon-young was pictured arriving at a police station on Thursday after admitting to filming himself having sex with around 10 women without their consent.
The 30-year-old singer was seen at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency to be questioned by police in relation to the case.
In a statement released earlier in the day, Jung revealed he did film the intimate footage which he then shared with friends on a mobile messenger app. He has now quit the music industry as police launch their investigation.
Jung said: ‘I admit to all my crimes.
‘I filmed women without their consent and shared it in a chatroom, and while I was doing so I didn’t feel a great sense of guilt.’
The musician continued: ‘Throughout the rest of my life, I will repent on my immoral and illegal acts that constitute crimes.
‘I will faithfully cooperate with an investigation by police that will start on Thursday and I will readily accept whatever punishment is in store for me.’
The allegations emerged after South Korean broadcaster SBS reported that Jung had filmed the sex videos and posted them in a group chat between 2015 and 2016.
In 2016, one of Jung’s ex-girlfriends made an allegation that Jung had filmed their sexual encounter without her consent, however the complaint was later withdrawn.
Earlier this week, another K-pop star, Seungri, was charged with supplying prostitutes to potential business investors. It was during this investigation that police came across Jung’s intimate videos.
As a result of the charges, Seungri, 28, announced his retirement from the entertainment industry and said he is willing to cooperate with the police.
Seungri denies the allegations against him.
