Brian Austin Green has defended his decision to record a podcast on the set of Beverly Hills 90210 week after the death of Luke Perry.
The 45-year-old took to Instagram to reveal he would be taping alive episode from Southern California’s Torrance High School, where the high school drama filmed, but fans slammed him and claimed it was ‘too soon’.
In response however, the actor reminded fans that ‘everyone grieves in different ways’.
‘The passing of Luke is terrible. As was said by many, everyone grieves in different ways,’ he said.
‘If it’s too soon for you to attend what is meant to be a fun night for the fans then you don’t have to. Everyone should respect everyone’s process.’
Brian and Luke starred together in the hit 1990s teen drama but Brian had yet to make a statement about the death of Like, who passed away on 4 March after suffering from a stroke.
Many of His 90210 costars shared statements or posted pictures on tribute of Luke on social media but Jennie Garth was among those to grieve privately.
Her return to social media on 8 March to celebrate International Women’s Day led to several comments from fans about her decision to not speak publicly about Luke, and she added in response: ‘Hey everyone … I chose to post a pic of my girls today. Because they are my life. Because today is a day to celebrate all women.
‘It took a lot for me to want to celebrate anything. I thought about it and I know that’s the way my dear friend would have wanted it.’
She added of Luke: ‘His kids were his life. And anyone who knew him knows that and knows he didn’t give a f*#k about social media. So please don’t assume or judge or make rude comments. That’s really uncool. Sincerely, Jennie.’
