Love Island’s Mike Thalassitis has died, aged 26.
According to reports, his body was found in a forest near his home in Essex.
It is not yet known how he died.
Tributes have poured in for the late reality star – nicknamed Muggy Mike – on social media.
Zara Holland led messages of condolence, posting: ‘This is so so sad, thoughts are with Mikes friends and family.’
While Chanelle McCleary posted: ‘More and more young people are committing suicide, makes me so sad that people feel they can no longer live in this world.
‘I think there’s so much pressure on us to be someone or do something & we are too hard on ourselves, society needs to be easier on us all… #ripmike.’
And Chris Hughes took a moment to explain defend him over his ‘muggy’ nickname.
‘His name wasn’t Muggy Mike. Please stop brandishing that,’ he tweeted. ‘His name was Mike Thalassitis, and every inch of my heart goes out to his family & friends.
‘A good guy, taken far, far to soon.’
Semi-pro footballer Mike came to fame back in 2017, after appearing on season three of Love Island, alongside Chris Hughes, Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies.
He was unable to find love on the show, and went on to appear on Celebs Go Dating following his stint in the villa.
More to come.
