Love Island’s Mike Thalassitis sadly passed away over the weekend aged just 26.
Police confirmed today that the body of the late star was found hanged in a North London park.
And while his friends and family mourn the loss of their loved one, celebrities have taken to social media to pay their respects to the TV personality.
One of the A-listers to voice their emotions was Kim Woodburn, who urged her new followers to seek help.
Writing on Twitter, the 76-year-old said: ‘I decided to set up my Twitter to give everyone a bit of a giggle as life can be hard.
‘But after hearing the news about Mike Thalassitis I can’t help but feel deeply sad. Condolences to his friends and family.’
She added: ‘If anyone is struggling give Samaritans a call on 116 123.’
In another Tweet, Kim wrote: ‘Life is worth living. When you are down you can always come back up!’
A Mets spokesperson released a statement to Metro.co.uk, confirming Mike had died by suicide.
They said: ‘Police were called to a park near Latymer Way, N9 at 09:28hrs on Saturday, 16 March to reports of a man found hanged.
‘Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and found a man, aged in his 20s, deceased.
‘At this early stage, the death is not being treated as suspicious. Police are in the process of informing the man’s next of kin.
‘A file will be prepared for the coroner.’
Since the news of his death, Mike’s fellow Love Islanders have paid tribute to the star, with the show’s host Caroline Flack also sharing her respects.
Taking to Instagram, the 39-year-old posted a picture of the pair posing with balloons at a party.
She wrote: ‘Mike… you were a total gentleman… I won’t forget that … it’s so so sad …you will be missed. RIP.’
Mike earned the nickname ‘muggy’ after getting close to Olivia Attwood on the dating show, despite her seeing Chris Hughes at the time.
Taking a moment to defend his friend, Chris wrote: ‘His name wasn’t Muggy Mike. Please stop brandishing that.
‘His name was Mike Thalassitis, and every inch of my heart goes out to his family & friends. A good guy, taken far, far to soon.’
